I moved the whole switch to down by the headlight switch. Has left a hole up by the cover, but that should be rectified by a later model sunroof cover. Got an old blanking plug from a scrappie and cut a hole in it. Looks ok, but the illuminated sunroof icon is sideways... Means I'm not waving my hand up in the air every time I want to open or close it... (I'm lazy like that!)

At £5k a time for a clean and a polish (assuming he goes the the err, best) then he'll soon be bankrupt!!!

Is this the same across the range? VR's 16v & G60's...? Assume so...

(another pet hate of mine, people who slow right down miles before the lanee to turn right... It's long anough to stop from 70 happily so why start braking 100 yards before it...) Yeah, it's a 60mph limit due to people getting killed on the road. Lots of underpasses, but the elderly seem to take a dislike to them so try and cross at rush hour... One was hit under 100m from an underpass. 5.30pm... Tragic really as it'll ruin that persons life (not to mention the old guy they hit!)

I live next to dual carridgeway and indicate very early for my turn off if I see a car behined me as I'll be doing the speed limit (60) and nearly everyone wants to go faster. I think if a car is indicating right then you can undertake it as it's not gunna turn left (you hope) Came back down the M25 the other day on a saturday lunchtime and was gunna start a thread about the bloody right hand lane hoggers. Even people sitting in the middle lane as well as they're preventing people from moving over from the 'overtaking' lane... grrrrrrrr  Only thing is though, with all the increase in lane changes that would follow from people actually driving as they'e supposed to, do you think there would be more crashes??

Think he's doing the moonroof swop...
-
All you'll need for the entire job is a phillips screwdriver and a 10mm socket. (and 10 washers!)
-
10mm 10 of them....
-
Have you got a pic? afaik there's only the blower behined there... Mind you, mine's been in and out so many times I don't think anything is where it originally was...

Play in front wheels, rattley noise when driving...
.A.N.T. replied to .A.N.T.'s topic in Drivetrain
I've replaced the clutch about 20-30k ago when I did the engine swop, and the wheel bearing were done about a month or two ago. If the play is 'supposed' to be there then that isn't so bad, but I don't like the rattly noise when driving as it's clearly audiable from people on pavements... "oh look, there goes that rattley black corrado again..." -
Hi, I've noticed a rattley noise coming from the front end somewhere for quite a while now. Also the wheels rotate (when jacked up) forward and backward quite a way whilst in gear. prob total movement is about 1hr on a clockface My mates 16v doesn't do this, his wheels won't move at all when in gear. This makes me think that something is worn/loose in the transmission area. Any ideas what? It's done 180k and is still on it's 1st gearbox. Could that be it?

Depends on my mood really... I would have overtaken a few years ago, but I'm much more chilled about it all now. Once I'd got past this car there would only be another one just up the road from it to get stuck behined. Too many cars on the roads really...
-
Would sort this as a priority mate as when the spoiler's up it lets rainwater into the boot (or at least mine did!)
-
I like that idea :) I quite like knowing when it's approaching freezing point though to look out for ice etc. Maybe I'll move it for summer, then as it gets colder I'll move it back again.

Get two wires and connect the fan directly to the battery to check it's not the fan motor... Couldn't tell you which ones are +ve or -ve though... I take it the fan spins freely...
-
Oh yeah, one other thing. If your radio reception is crap then pull the aerial out at the same time as doing the roof and sort it out... Click here for fix it's hard to get the solder to stick, so I blobbed a load of solder over the bit the aerial screws onto (on the inside) to get the shape of the contact, soldered the wire onto that, then dripped loads of hot glue onto that to secure it. Radio is so much better now it's unbelievable! I levered the old, rusted knackered circuit board out with a screwdriver and hammer!!
-
It's not too hard to swop them over, but it would be useful to know which bits unscrew and which bits just pull off. I undid just the sunvisors, sunroof motor cover, front pillar (drivers side) and the back cover (next to the boot at the top) and the roof lining just bent and came out with a little persuasion. I know a lot of people say don't do that as it's really easy to crease the roof but so long as you don't overstress it then you should be fine. Took me about 90 mnutes or so to do it on my own, if I'd done it with someone then they probably would not have connected it up right meaning all the rainwater would drip under the floor and soak the carpets (like last time I had the roof out....... ) Don't forget to buy the 10 washers (2x4 for the front 4 bolts, then one in both of the front side bolts) which get the front of the roof sitting perfectly in line with the bodywork Any questions just ask me, did it this weekend so it's still fresh in my mind...

Yeah, sorry, wrong section and very waffely... Need to get hold of some Lenso sentre caps basically! cheers!
-
AS it says in the title I won the auction for the Lenso Mesh's over the weekend (£140, hopefully a bargain as they need a bit of work doing to them) but the centre caps have cracked and are generally looking really tired. Are these an easy thing to get hold of?? Gunna pop down to Hellfrauds in a bit and sort out some locking wheel nuts and some 5mm spacers and I may ask there but I don't expect much more than blank looks really... (can't go on though until I get my FK's back from Germany, maybe this Wed?)
-
Hmmm, very tempting... But alas no... Should be going to round heater controls this weekend and not the sliders... Then its the W8 interior light, switches from a porsche and dash from a Mclaren F1 (ok, maybe I lied about the last two...)
-
Bit of a challenge then, get it done in wood and done in wood well and prove everyone wrong!! The dash def needs some detailing. Is your's a late dash or early? Mine's an early and I'm trying to update it to give a more modern look to it...
-
Use PM's for numbers mate! Nice looking car though, looks tidy... As for the throttle cable, unclip it from the engine and see if it feels stiff to pull back once the accellerator is pressed... Is it revving at one speed between 1500-2000 or is it moving around?
-
Saw this just before I left work today so thought I'd give it a go... Wow!! Can now listen to the radio all around the backroads without it cutting out once!!! Hasn't been like that since I got the car, just put it down to Corrado's being crap at radio!! Unplugged the aeriel and it didn't make any difference to the reception at all!! Proves it wasn't working... As someone said earlier, the solder wouldn't stick to the pin at the top of the base, so dripped solder down onto it to create the shape of the pin, then soldered the wire onto that, then dribbled loads of glue from a glue gun onto that which has held it on. Job took not longer than 15 minutes (but I do have my headlining loose at the back due to sunroof problems...) hits the top of my 'best mod' list!!! :D :D 8)

What does running them out of phase achieve? I know with subs it cancels the bass, so why do it on tweets?
-
Hi Marc... It says they're an 8 hole with 4x100 and 4x114 does this make sense?
