Horrible thing to come home to. I can't even imagine discovering that my car had been stolen - must be gut-wrenching. Hope the outcome isn't too grim for you.

Right, following on from this thread a while back, I'm going to have a shot at producing a sticker....... Please use the poll to express your interest and post any comments as well. "Corrado-forum.net" No need for the "www." in my opinion. .........in the Volkwagen,VAG font......... 255mm x 40mm (should be perfect to have one in either side of the back windows and a nice enough size as to not look to OTT. In etched look vinyl (white writing, clear background), reverse cut for inside fitting including transfer paper on each seperately. Now the price depends on how many I decide to order, but each sticker (will probably do a discount for more than one) should not cost more than a fiver delivered. Will detail prices when I get a rough idea of numbers which will determine my order quantity.
-
Ant & Scott I am ordering mine soon - are you interested? If so, please either see me on MSN or email/pm me for details. Will probably order on Monday..........and the price isn't too far off £500 btw.

I've just taken delivery of the shield entry kit and a claybar from Glyn and the kit looks very good. Not had chance to test it yet though. I have to say that the delivery time was pretty shocking though. Now I don't know if this was down to her majesty's mail or to the people in Switzerland but I think, in the end, it was going on for over a month after sending the money. Of course, I was in no particular hurry to get the stuff and don't lay any of the blame on Glyn but just to say that for the price of the stuff, I kinda expected quicker delivery. Big thumbs up for the quality of the kits and for Glyn though! :thumbleft:

Ok, Darren - I'll email you a map to Fraggle Rock? How high are speed bumps btw?
-
Yeah great Jim! lol! Cost me as much again to get down there and back! :D
-
Ok so that's a possible 3 including me at the moment. I think the ccgb got them for about £520 for a group of about 11. I think I can get them for about that price for even a small group. How much can you do them for Ant?? MSN?
-
Scott - I don't think the CCGB boys got them much cheaper than £500 tbh. Been speaking with the guy that organised it (nice chap that he is!) and I think he said they had about 11 in the group-buy. baz - Cheers think I might do that - any recommendations on where to buy from?
-
Darren - been on the ale mate? :) Yeah I am actaully sorting something with Yaash at a good price (even for one kit!). Chris :D!
-
Cheers Jim, that was pretty much going to be on the cards. Yeah, my point was that they may only have 40k on them but 9 years will still take it's toll. Was looking for opinions on whether it was worth replacing anti-roll bars etc whilst I was at it.
-
Ok, First guess would have been warped disc. you should really be able to feel whether it is more the front or the back though. Either front or back discs/pads need replacing anyway?? If you're going for a new brake setup, go for the cupra brembo 4-pot setup! ;) If not, the pagid fast road pads are well-liked around these parts - forget which discs they work really well with - possible zimmerman cross-drilled?y
-
Got to love the black C's! ......and welcome to the forum :)
-
Right, think it's about time to sort out the handling on my VR. From general opinions, I have decided on the FK konig-summat coilovers. Questions though: 1) Best (and cheapest) place to buy from - preferably online?? 2) Worth getting new top-mounts whilst I'm at it? Worth replacing any other (cheapish) parts whilst I'm at it?? Car is 40k so most parts are probably standard from new and therefore 10 years old. 3) Anyone else interested in the same kit if I can get a price as close to £500 as possible and organise a group buy?? Cheers

Mine comes up at 45.......later spec VR6 - late '92 -
Urban legend as far as I remember Roddy. Might have worked the first couple of times it was tried but I'm pretty sure they are wise to it now.

Take number plate holder off, give it a bloody good clean (even sand out any imperfections). Lots of primer, rub down, more primer (repeat as you feel necessary) and apply your top coat (or two or three) and then finish off with some lacquer (does lacquer have a 'c' in it?). Or alternatively, take it to a body shop!
-
I've got to ask Mike, when do you get time to drive (and fix) 3 C's?? Most people think they have it bad having to fix one (or two) door-handles!!

Give ya £800 delivered to Fraggle Rock ;) hehe You know I like the Golf Paul :) It's not too different to the one I've just sold. Just a bit out of my price range and I think I'd be better spending some cash on the VR. -

Yeah exactly what I was going to say really. If the engine has been looked after, it will be able to run for a very long time. Trouble is that obviously a lot of parts will need replacing as they reach the end of their life. On the last two Golf GTI's I had, the one with 120k miles was a lot quicker than the one with 60k on! I'm considering buying another GTI, in addition to the C, but I will purposely go for one with over 100k. -
Just don't mention Bahnbrenner.
-
Ant, I'm pretty sure that no law states that you have to have a cat fitted. You do have to pass the emissions test though. Without a cat, this could prove a lot harder! /waits to be proved wrong.
-
Exactly. Nothing actually constructive in here so I think this can be locked.
-
Should just be able to replace the hosing. Should just be a case of a split hose. Probably just the hose that's worn away with age.
-
Yeah the standard VR is supposed to be around 190. Can easily get it to over 200 (assuming you are pretty close to begin with) with a chip, induction kit and a de-cat.
