Corrado virgin, is the storm edition worth the extra premium?
VR6 replied to maximusiv's topic in General Car Chat
Can of worms No. /Can of worms Welcome to the forum  -
Sure the caliper(s) is/are releasing properly? Sounds to me like the brake pads are being bound against the disc causing the excessive heat you're describing. Does the same thing happen on both sides? Either way, you shouldn't be thrashing it after 10 minutes anyway ;) Or if you mean 'after 10 minutes of thrashing it' .... in which case, it still sounds odd that you lose the brakes after such a short space of time.

Good story and nice pics Pete - love the mk2 :salute:

Sorry I couldn't help Kit. I must have given it away with the car unfortunately.

I have to admit, I'm not really sure!! We're talking about 8 years ago probably.

I won't delete but I will CLUNK

I stickered over the top of my old ZW1's and thought they looked pretty good. Especially versus the price of some genuine Porsche centre caps. Moving to Suppliers as you are trying to source something rather than asking something technical (which this section of the forum is for ... ).

They should name a car after him.

Anyone want to play a game??? AND THE WINNER IS :-
VR6 replied to Johnny H's topic in Off-topic Chat
I know :( I'm useless at games to be fair - I usually cheat at solitaire. Congratulations btw Johnny :salute: -
You already have a Wanted ad for this so closing as it's not really right for the tech section.

Yeah I think we know with all things VW, there are always oddities and mongrels. I should have put a caveat in my answer but didn't really think it affected the OP too much if there were a few exceptions not mentioned on this occasion.

25 December, 10am, just after presents and a glass of bucks fizz. -
OBDI = All Corrados (2.9) and early/non Highline MK3 Golfs (2.8 ). Both 12v OBDII = Mk3 Highline Golfs (2.8 ). Again 12v Difference between OBDI and II ... various bits and pieces - the search will tell you if you're interested. 24v - you're into Mk4 engines. I'm sure someone will be able to tell you which engine you're looking for but I doubt it would be the Corrado 2.9 tbh.

Can't renew my CCGB membership. Help needed please??
VR6 replied to Johnny H's topic in General Car Chat
The link works ok for me ... or are you just saying it's the actual renewal that's causing problems? -
It's a tough one. If you don't remove it there's a chance of theft. But if you do remove it, what exactly do you gain by it? You don't appreciate it and no one else does either. May as well just throw it in the bin. Or send it to me

I have some Sennheiser CX 500 ... very good earphones and would recommend them :)

I just sold a used one in good nick for £30 on Ebay.

It means they take rather than give.

Seen the battery in the Evo Kev? It's (literally) the same unit from a Robin Reliant!! I think my phone has a bigger unit! So I "upgraded" to a Type 054 Varta 12V 40Ah  Not suggesting the same one obviously but these guys give superb service: http://www.tayna.co.uk/

Sounds like a prime candidate for the banning stick. Now, I just have to decide where exactly to insert it.
-
No problemmo :) Has that answered the question then?

I don't want to put a downer on things but a general rule with the VR is that more power = mucho dollar. I'm not saying you can't extract a few easy-ish gains but trying to get over 205bhp, or thereabouts, can get fairly expensive. I know the Schrick is fairly expensive and doesn't add all that much in raw bhp terms but when it comes to having some more torque but, more importantly, a lot more driveability, I think it's worth the outlay. Especially when you consider all the little bits here and there soon add up - larger TB, induction kit, cams etc. Whereas a Shrick can be installed (in a day for a half reasonable home mechanic) and can be pretty much forgotten about. Just to throw an alternative opinion out there!

Do you mean you want the photos to display bigger ... or you have big photos that cannot be uploaded?
