my water pump died last week , the bearing on the impeller collapsed which also acts as a seal, so it was a refill and limp it home i priced a pump from gsf which was £30 , replacement pumps have a metal impeller unlike the original which was plastic , whether this caused the early demise of mine at only 170,000 miles i'm unsure  anyhoo i always price up the work i'm doing ,mainly because sometimes it isnt worth it for what the garage may charge, i rang my local vw specialist and they wanted £200 !!! he said he had done one before and its a massive job :x dont believe the hype !! it took me approx 2 hours and it wasnt difficult at all , so all i'm saying is have a go 8) new water pump and fresh G12 plus , no special tools required , just a trolley jack and the usual spanners and allen keys

I put flashing red leds in mine , they draw next to no current and i've never had any issues , i didnt link it to the alarm , i used a permenant live and linked to a fuse that drops to earth with the ignition off , simple but effective :-)

emailed you a link to my photobucket , pearl green vr6

i was tempted by a TT , i recently took one out and i did want to like it but it just felt "numb" imo certainly not a drivers car ,nicely finished and well built , maybe the 4wd makes it feel too safe ? it just left me cold - deadpan now the vx220 turbo was a hoot , which is still on my list but i'm not too sure about resale and living with it on a day to day basis same with the elise and exige

ah well thats a good sign, it could just need a good run , it could be a coil pack, maf, leads, fuel filter etc etc but i'd give it a good run before diving in good luck :-)

it might do mate , was there any smoke out of the back when it misses ?
-
did you put optimax in ? i had something similar recently and a tank of good juice cleared it up and it has'nt returned 8) mine would start and tick over perfect but anything above 2.5k and it was missing really badly (felt like 3cylinders)

what about a vx220 or a vx220 turbo 0-60 in 4.5 secs , cheap to service and a chick magnet :-)

replace the fuse sometimes they look ok but they are making a poor contact , i doubt its the alarm tbh the fact that it only goes up slightly with total closure is usually due to the pulse not being set long enough as the alarm arms do they not work with the ignition on or off ? you tried them with the door open

pull the h/u and rewire to check but it does sound like an earth problem
-
induction kit - bmc cda or a k&n
-
have you wired the head unit from a different live and earth ? and it doesnt work ? if so it may have blown something (possibly a fuse) internally

a new xl , xxl throttle body wont cost too many bucks and is a nice mod imo
-
it could be your top mounts cv's will normally knock more when your on full lock
-
the earth will run to point on any clean unpainted metal surface , if you have a long piece of wire you could run it from the negative off your battery to test it with

isnt that the one where the dash looks like an after thought i.e just sitting on a shelf :-) -
pull the knob off and check the copper contacts as Supercharged, says , then use a multi tester to check the plug at the fan is getting power to confirm the fan is dead , its easy to access from the passenger side ,just drop the shelf
