:( help have some problems dudes (im back again) :( 2006!
stevemac replied to mistrall's topic in Engine Bay
What's your water & oil temp like ? CAT may have a slight obstruction, but if that was the case - your engine would not run "sweet" as there would be too much back pressure in the exhaust. The engine would not rev very well at all & may cut-out. -

If the CAT glows with heat - you have a very serious problem. My advice would be to take the car to a reputable garage & get them to diagnose exactly what the problem is. In fact - if your CAT's glowing with heat - your exhaust manifold is likely to have melted !! -
You'll need to replace the resistor - should be mounted very close to the heater motor.
-
Check your fuses - sounds like too strange a coincidence for the switch to have packed in.
-
veritas137, If your fitting VR top mounts, you'll also need VR top spring plates - with a recess for the bearing.
-
If you have coilovers - you won't need a spring compressor. There is a "tube" nut which holds the top mount to the strut assy. It can be removed with a hammer & screwdriver but it's preferable to use the right tools (which I have). Bring the new top mounts to MK on Sunday & I'll change them for you

If you're gonna be locking the driveshaft by applying the brakes - be sure to screw the wheel bolts into the hub. If you don't, the little disc retaining screw will just shear off !!

Spot on there m8 .

Forget your Audis - this is what I call a good looking car -

Very likely to be a duff blue temp sender - fits into the plastic housing on the front of the cylinder head, same housing that the top hose connects to. Try swapping the blue & black sensor plugs over - if that cures your fault, it's definitely the blue sensor. The reason why your fault disappears when you go full throttle is because the engine ECU doesn't use the (faulty) signal from the blue temp sensor at full throttle.

The seal which seals your distributor to the engine crankcase is likely to be leaking.
-
I've deleted your double post.. As for your problem - sounds like it could be fuel starvation. When did you last change the fuel filter ? Other possibility is a weak fuel pump - disconnect the fuel feed pipe from the fuel distributor. Fuel should pump out of there when you turn the engine over - if it doesn't, see above.

Agreed, Cones are for putting ice cream in and directing traffic.... Great sound though .

julianhh, Does the clutch work okay - besides the stiff pedal ?

VW ASSASSIN, Welcome to the forum - I'm sure you'll be happy with Corrado ownership........... :D

Either a leaky battery or botched accident repair.
-
The probe loom plugs into a socket - just below the brake master cylinder, close to the driver's side engine mount
-
Looking at my handbook, I'd say it's fuse no.6 (20amp) - handbook not very clear though.

So far as I know, we sell them. Not sure how much but should be a fair bit cheaper than VW..........

Grabbing at straws here, but is it possible that the exhaust or inlet cam timing is slightly out of sync ? This would result in a small amount of unburned fuel passing straight from the inlet valve into the exhaust - as both sets of valves would be momentarily open at the same time (very common with some fast road cams).

We don't sell the cone filters seperately - just the panel filters & the 57i induction kits (small cone filter). The Pipercross stock won't be arriving for another month & I'm not yet sure exactly what the price will be. Worth remembering that the Pipercross filters are foam & not paper.
-
The K&N cone filters that come with the 57i induction kits are tiny in comparison to the Jetex cone on my car.. Do K&N do more than 1 size of cone filter ?
-
The K&N cone filters are very small (compared to my Jetex, which is like a bucket). Are you sure that's what you want ? I'll price both anyway & see if I can get an expected delivery date on the Pipercross. :rambo:
