No worries Paul, I was as careful as I could not to reveal your identity. Looks good m8, you gonna take it for a blast down the "strip" at Inters next year. :?:

Not sure what their sub's are like but I hate the big green buttons on their head units. :(
-
Way better than any of the (many) diagram's I've ever had to produce for insurance purposes.
-
So far as I'm aware, the Synta Blue oil is 15w40.
-
Sounds like an echo in here tonight.
-
Sounds like a trip to the scrappies.

CandyWhite16v, ABS is a safety related feature & for this reason alone should not share electrical circuits with any other device. The ABS fuses reside in seperate fuse holders above the fusebox. There will be a 30a fuse for the ABS pump relay & a 30a fuse for the main ABS relay. (according to my owners handbook) So far as I can see - the sensors aren't fused - just the relays. I suggest that you sack your autoelectrician & get one who knows what he's talking about !!

Possible - was the whine present before the oil was changed ?
-
Ahh-so (say it quickly in a high voice - you'll get the idea where we get them from  )

My g/f can't wait until I put mine back on the road - so she can show-off to her workmates.
-
Just a thought - have you had anything electrical fitted recently - radio, alarm, CD changer, etc ??
-
No - ABS has a seperate fuse. The fuse that keeps blowing (fuse no.9) should be a 20a fuse. If this blows - you have an electrical fault. Increasing the size of the fuse is not a good idea (risk of fire). I would suggest that you use a multimeter & find the source of your problem. Sounds like you have a short circuit somewhere. You have a very ill-advised auto electrician. I would advise you to take your car to one who knows what he's doing.

DGL, Get your car checked by a VW specialist, instead of the helpful "enthusiasts" at quick-fit. Welcome to the forum m8. 8)

Should be fairly straight forward - I doubt you'll need to touch the driveshafts.
-
How many miles has the car done ?
-
I'll make this one a "sticky" Daz.
-
LadyLupin-Black, Just take the boot light bulb out - this will break the circuit. Then see if your battery still drains.
-
Same here - wires are taped up.

I still can't understand why they wanted more money from me. I did some checking over the weekend & Leeds (where I used to live) has a higher car crime rate than where I now live in Birmingham.

Steve, do you have a part number of a standard bolt to replace this? Not sure if it would be possible to fit a standard bolt - not much room to get a socket over the bolt head to tighten/loosen it.
-
Don't use Chris Knott
-
Fairly certain mine has one too, although I can't remember what it's for.

"Care in the community" has a lot to answer for. Looks like this guy sold the frontal lobe of his brain & built this car with the proceeds

Not really a difficult job to do - only potential problem is removing the rear caliper carrier bolts. They're allen bolts & can be difficult to remove. :? If you need new ones - the VW part number is N0199123

Depends how much coolant you've drained from the system - is it completely empty ? If you've drained the system by just removing the bottom radiator hose - 2 bottles will be enough  Be careful not to use too much antifreeze - too much may actually damage the system & could make your car overheat.
