You tart Daz   Gonna start looking for a private plate for mine, once christmas is out of the way :D -
Now that sounds like my kind of engine :rambo: Nice looking car m8 8)
-
Monoboy, we stock/sell the whole lot - stub axle, bearing kit, etc. Give me a shout if you need the part numbers
-
Sorted - I've altered that one too 8)

Corrected yer GSF weblink Henny - it's a .com

Either from Darren or from any motor factor or main dealer. These are universal plugs & are fitted to almost every diesel vehicle on the road, with the exception of the new "direct rail" injected diesel engines.

The deal for SURE is that the internals of the G60 filter are different to those inside other VAG filters. I did some checking this afternoon. Why risk shagging your engine/supercharger for the sake of an extra couple of quid every oil change :?:
-
& should be replaced every 2 years
-
Shilakadaddy, blank off the smaller vacum pipe outlets with "diesel injector blanking plugs". These are exactly the right diameter/size, cost only a few pence each & just push over the metal outlets.
-
Agreed - Corrado's look far better with the mouldings removed :D
-
Fuel filter should be under the car - close to the OSR wheel
-
Very definitely not - I usually get around 350-450 miles from a tank (15 gallons) of Optimax, depending how I drive it :rambo:
-
ISV takes around 10 minutes to change on a G60 - not sure on a 16v but I doubt it would take much longer. :? At a main dealer, using genuine VW parts & extortionate labour rate - maybe £180 inc vat would be most you'd have to pay. I would definitely not describe £180 to change the valve as reasonable.

Coley17778, welcome aboard m8
-
Shilakadaddy, what did you use to block the smaller vacuum pipes with (throttle body & inlet manifold) ??

young dub, read this thread  Read the whole thread & not just the first part. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=153

steveo29, I'll check on Monday, when I get back to work. As far as I know - the filters are different internally. Why noy just use the correct filter, instead of something which may look similar ?? & for what it's worth - I wouldn't take advice from Jabbasport on how to butter a slice of toast
-
Yes - they're identical to the OE ones - Mann used to make them for VW ! Do not use any VW or Mann filters that do not have a nut on the bottom - these filters do not have the internal valve inside :!: The correct oil filter is unique to the G60 engine & fits no other engines. Better to buy the correct G60 oil filter with a nut on the bottom & cut it off if you need to. Personally - I would remove the standard G60 oil cooler sandwich plate & replace it with the Mocal one, this will enable you to use the standard G60 oil filter without cutting the nut off the bottom.

Take my advice m8 (based on 15 year's main dealer experience) Cosworth 190E 2.3-16v will totally break your finances. Especially as this car has unknown engine problems. In good nick, the 2.3-16v "Cosworth" is a very nice car to drive & quick too 8) 190E 2.5-16v - very disappointing to drive in comparrison to the 2.3. The 2.5 is not a Cosworth power plant - it's a Mercedes copy. Engine capacity was increased in an attemp to get a similar power output. On paper, the 2.5 is a quicker car - in practice this is not the case, the 2.3 is way better. The 16v 190's share surprisingly few parts with the rest of the 190 range - even most of the body panels are different, as are a good proportion of the interior ones.

Down on standard power with chip and smaller pulley!
stevemac replied to mondy's topic in Engine Bay
mondy, Boost return re-route is definitely not your problem. 1. Exactly what type of chip are you now using ? 2. Was a shorter alternator/charger belt fitted at the same time as your smaller pulley ? 3. How old & exactly what spark plugs are you using ? 4. Has your "carbon can" been removed ? 5. Where did you get the charger from ? 6. Did you run it in properly ? 7. Is there any oil on the outside of the charger casing ? MFA boost check is not the most accurate way of checking how much boost you have - did you also perform the MFA boost check before your old charger blew (so as to gain a comparison) ? -
Neverite, Welcome to the forum m8  Have a look in the "Body Mods" section & the "Members Gallery" - see if there's anything that you like. Give me a shout if you see something that you like & need supplier details 8)

yalan, is that a piccy of the car with the problems ?? If it is - don't touch it with a bargepole  Merc Cosworth parts will cost you a fortune

Sounds like it has some "engine problems" matey
