Either you have used up all of the fluid in the reservoir or you may have a knackered ABS unit m8.. :?
-
Renegade, Which dealer do you work for ??
-
Please, please - tell me you're joking.....
-
Well tuned G60 (PG) engines can produce around 250bhp, although much tuning is required to acieve this. Other option is to go for a 1.8T conversion. Dubsport built a MK2 Golf with a 1.8T engine producing around 450bhp  cost of this conversion maybe outside your budget though.

Harry, Whoever welded your exhaust wants shooting.... :2gunfire: In welding circles - that's called "Duckshit" ........... That is one VERY poorly welded system.

I'm just trying to work out where your electrical power problem is. Do your LT leads at the coil have power & does the king lead to the distributor cap have power ?? If you have no spark - the easiest way to trace the problem is to back-track along the supply chain..
-
Check power into & out of coil

You either have one hell of a coincidence or the steering belt is either not on properly or it's too tight/slack. The smaller charger pulley will not affect the steering in any way at all. Did you also fit a smaller charger drive belt (to compensate for the smaller pulley) ?
-
All G60's have straight pins...
-
What you tryin' to say ..................

1.8-16v & G60 mounts have the bearings inside the mount. VR6 ones are separate. Not sure which type the 2.0-16v's have. VR6 mounts are much stronger & better design. Not just a straight swap for the G60 style mounts though - need to change the top spring mounting plate, top mount & bearing.
-
Did you renew the top mounts ? If not, then renew them when you fit the bumpstops. Everything on the front suspension legs is kept tightly together by the springs - except for the bearings in the top mounts. Other possibilities for your rattling - bottom ball joints, lower arm bushes, anti roll links & bushes

del68, We do sell the rear calipers, unfortunately we can't cram all of our stock into the brochure. The brochure is just a small selection of our range. I would recommend that your use EBC Greenstuff front pads (which we also sell) - better than the Pagids.
-
Cheers for the link Daz - sounds like a much better option than Inters.

:thumbleft:

Bargain if it stays at £50.

The matrix pipes should be the same temperature as the rest of the cooling system pipes. Water circulates through the heater matrix whenever the engine is running. Interior air flow temperature is controlled by a flap next to the heater box.
-
Now you know the difference that they make.
-
chrishill, you have any bumpstops fitted ?
-
Usually, I would have the room & knowledge to store/strip the car. Unfortunately my G60's taking the space in my garage up, while I'm squeezing some more power from the engine.
-
task, G60 bost is controlled by a valve in the throttle body - as g60bv says, this kit will be useless to you. The throttle linkage to this valve on the throttle body is adjustable - it's a small link rod underneath the throttle body, with a ball joint on each end.

Down on standard power with chip and smaller pulley!
stevemac replied to mondy's topic in Engine Bay
With the blue temp sensor disconnected - the engine will neither retard nor advance the ignition timing. The ECU corrective timing system is completely disabled. What you will find is that the ECU will not advance the timing unless this sensor is connected. Re-set your timing - following the above proceedure & I suspect that your problems will be solved. -
Drive it in the rain - your first "mod" will follow shortly afterwards. Standard Corrado windscreen wipers are crap. You'll soon be down at the dealers buying some new Lupo GTI wiper arms & blades.
-
Good advice & exactly what I did. :D
-
Not necessarily - my old Scirocco 1.8i had a blocked thermostat & water was not circulating into the radiator at all. The only time the car started to get really hot was in traffic. Just the air flow from normal driving was enough to keep the engine cool'ish.
