  1. Idle pin switch is at the back of the throttle linkage, underneath the black plastic lump that the cable runs behind. The full throttle switch is the one at the front - with the electrical wire atached to it.

Strictly speaking, your insurance company should be advised of ANY modifications made to a vehicle. Whether that be cosmetic or performance.
  3. Yeah - could do with sending someone down to the beach for some sand/gravel to fill the potholes with .
  4. Yeah - it started life a few years ago, when it was a very small car .
  5. Correct - that is the source of your leak & yes it will cause power problems higher up the rev range. Soloution - fit a RSR outlet. These are made from alloy & don't leak like the black boxes do.

    Black Paint

Metallic black is quite pale, so far as black goes - more of a dark grey.

Cheers J The metallic black has flakes of green & flakes of red in it. Looks different in different lighting.
  8. If your cambelt has jumped a couple of teeth - symptoms will be more or less as you describe.
  9. Only way that I can see of definitely eleminating the ECU is to borrow a "known working" one from somebody & see if that cures your problems. I've seen numerous causes & fixes for symptoms similar to the ones that you are experiencing. Usually caused by a dead or dying sensor - working out which one is the problem. External coolant leaks are usually fairly easy to spot. Checks need to be done when the engine is HOT. The coolant system may only leak when under pressure.
  10. Sounds to me like the timing is all wrong. Possible causes could be that the distributor has been incorrectly fitted, leads have been fitted in the wrong order or the signal from the hall sender is not reaching the ECU. When was the cambelt last changed ?

JBOB, look at the piccy below . Click the link for more
  12. Hi Rica, I'm not too well versed in VR's but one piece of advice that I can offer is not to use Radweld. Radweld is a "bodger's repair". There are ways & means to find coolant leaks, however small. I can't beleive a qualified mechanic has even suggested it as a permanent repair.
  13. Hi Fiona, welcome to the forum .
  14. Gaskets will be fine - we (GSF) use OE manufacturers (either Elring or Reinz). Good idea to change the head bolts too. Not sure if we stock the timing chains.
  15. What was wrong with the car before you fitted the new dizzy ?
  16. Welcome aboard Brian . 8)
  17. AFAIK - quality front mount cooler may add another 7 or 8 BHP. Difference will be more noticable at speed - due to extra "wind chill" cooling effect
  18. Check your inlet manifold's nice & tight & the gasket is in good condition - seen a few of these which had started to leak.
  19. Make sure you ask for "fuel pipe". Petrol is a solvent & some types of pipe don't like it very much.
  20. Interesting nickname, Jules. "jcorallo". Makes me wonder if you're not just a dyslexic Toyota owner .. Looks like he cleared off over a year ago Matt - last visit was June 2004.
  21. Andy665, Ahh - it was you. I saw we'd sold one already. You must have bought it just as we put them into stock, we've only been stocking them for a couple of months or so. I just noticed that we stocked them today while I was looking for something else.
  22. Wow - resurection of a 2 year old thread . U still developing these chips Bilal ?
  23. Problem running without any kind of forced induction is that the compression will be way too low. G60's run appox 8:1 compression, whereas most normally aspirated cars run approx 10:1 compression. Reallistically - unless you're planning to change the pistons, you'll need to fit either a turbo or supercharger.
  24. Standard 3 bar FPR is retained with the new SNS chips.
