Im new here, and want one of dems Corrado's...
Son of a Beesting replied to G-Laden's topic in General Car Chat
I got a G60 as my first corrado.....and i can say i love it. Should change the oil/filter every 5000 miles (reminds me, guess what im doing next weekend). Rust not a major issue (although these cars are over 10 years old) although not as bad as Alfas.... The MPG is not good around town, although on the motorway i get about 35 MPG (being sensible and legal). I got mine with under 80K on the clock, just have to keep any eye out. Hope all goes well with the serach and keep us updated PS. My 100th post, so at least......I AM REGULAR -
Looking for my 1st Corrado, which one do I go for?
Son of a Beesting replied to keizerschoze2002's topic in General Car Chat
But all corrados are more about the love than the money. Otherwise we all be driving fiestas!! None of them are CHEAP, but once you drive em...... -
Saw a few yesterday. Black VR6, lowered, debadged grill, going through Rottingdean village (near Brighton) Also a red G60 with FK rear lights (clear and red I think), left hand drive along brighton sea front in a traffic jam. Lowered as well with aftermarket alloys on. Also a green VR6 (private plate i think) parked up in one of those posh sea front flat places also along brighton sea front

Have you taken the door cards off recently? The door release rod (dont know the proper name but the metal bar that opens the latch when you open door from inside) has a piece of foam to stop it hitting the door skin. This may have come off. I think the same thing is happening to mine casue ever since i sound deadened the door and forgot to put it back on it vibrates like heck. I could be wrong (expect Kev to to clarify what is ACTUALLY wrong) but thats what i think it could be. My 2 cents :fadein:

Aquamist ERL Water Injection Kits ?
Son of a Beesting replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Engine Bay
This looks quite interesting. I have been tryin to find info about these on the internet but cant really find the answer I am looking for. I have a pretty standard 91 Corrado G60. I am looking at getting an oil cooler soon and a better Intercooler hopefully in next few months. What I am asking is would it be worthwhile to get one of these kits and put it on now? Would it be better just to wait until i get all these other things done first? -

Son of a Beesting replied to Louie Lungbubble's topic in General Car Chat

Corrado spotting - April 2005
Son of a Beesting replied to Louie Lungbubble's topic in General Car Chat
Could be mine. I dropped it off at a mates after work last night to do a bit of spraying. He told me he was going to do some 'masking up' the night before! Have to see if he took it out for a spin, cause the Hob is in the opposite direction to his spraying booth!! Thanks for the heads up G60Dan  -
Dont think Toad do as many add ons as Clifford. I know they do a glass break sensor for an extra £25 I think. I am looking at a new alarm based on that alone. How annoing to have your stereo nicked (like my mate last week!!). Wont save the window but amp/sub and contents of the boot could be worth lots more. As Kevhaywire says be careful who get to install, remember the looms are 10 years + old! Dont want some kid messing around with them as could cause more problems down the line.

You got wine from the charger....... 8) Does anyone do a mod for the G60 so it does this?? Only joking, welcome. :-P

Interior passenger door latch surround
Son of a Beesting replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Interior
Yeah im after the clip that goes round the edge door release on the inside of the car. Thanks -
Hello All I have somehow managed to lose my interior passenger door latch surround! Does anyone know if these are same as on the mk2golf? If not is it still available from dealers? I have an early interior Thanks

That garage makes me wanna cry...IM SO JEALOUS. Better than the stupid one I have. If I wanna work on anything apart from the engine I have to do it on the drive. Not good in winter.... Amazing install in the boot and the bike rules too. Love to be able to afford a bike, have to make do with pillion on my mates bikes instead.

OK, we know your cars, where did your names come from???
Son of a Beesting replied to fla's topic in General Car Chat
When I first joined it was Rich1, Richard being my name and 1 because it was all i could think of. I was being lazy. But then a friend pointed out to me it sounded like I had a lot of money (which I dont) so had to rethink. Dont want to give out the wrong impression. I am a massive Will Ferrell fan and 'son of a beesting' one of his catch phrases in SNL and in Anchorman (GREAT FILM). It also makes me smile each time I see it. So there you go :D -
mk4 rear calipers on corrado brake hoses??
Son of a Beesting replied to billinjah's topic in Drivetrain
Just fueling my paranoia that this car and everything to do with it is against me!! billinjahg60 mine where ok length wise just the connectors where incorrect, managed to get them to fit in the end just needed a little bit of 'work' You will probably have no problems with C&R, i'm just a bitter old man (thats my firends say anyway) :| -
mk4 rear calipers on corrado brake hoses??
Son of a Beesting replied to billinjah's topic in Drivetrain
BillingjahG60 you need to be really careful when ordering these. I spoke to C&R when i brought mine. I explained exactly what i needed a few times and apart from forgetting to process the order a few times (really messed up my install schedule) they sent the wrong ones. Which really helped when it went in for the MOT and failed cause they were peeing brake fluid outta the connectors!!! Dont like saying bad stuff about companies but a warning example of making 100% sure you get right stuff when placing the order. Needless to say I wasnt mega impressed and wont be going there again. -
That is the exact reason I keep holding back on German plates for mine. Such a shame as really look nice. After any german/english tie I also make sure the car is away in the garage. Some real dumb people out there, spoiling it for the rest of us.

HAHAHAHAHA Classic

Agreed, never admit anything to Insurance company just be honest about the facts but put anything else in. My brother had an accident in his car (wasnt his fault) and has taken months to get round to a suitable end. Hope your goes a lot faster

I had to get a new battery at the weekend, VW dealers got a sale on Varta batteries at the moment so if you after a good battery the dealer might turn out to be the cheapest option!!
-
Sorry should have mentioned its a '91 G60 on a J plate. I spoke to GSF and they said they dont have any genuine ones in stock just the universal type. I presume these are the plugless ones? I really dont like driving it when its over fuelling so my options are kinda limited!!
-
I know this has been discussed before and I have spent hours reading previous threads but I couldnt find any clear answer to what Universal lambda probe I need. I am 99% sure its the three wire one, just need confirmation for peace of mind before I make the trek. I asked VW for one and they said they are on back order for next couple of weeks and I need it fixed ASAP. So its off to GSF for me tomorrow night after work. So if anyone can help I would be real greatful. To those that are sick of seeing lambda posts...I apologise

Next mod...PSD Stand-alone oil Supply
Son of a Beesting replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Engine Bay
Thanks guys, an oil cooler it looks like next (once the new Lambda, audioscape door pods have gone in) mod. ahhhhhh the elusive golf G60 intercooler, keeping an eye on the forge motorsport FMIC thread as I think thats a more realistic option. 8) -
Hello all Im looking at what the next mod on my '91 C G60 should be. I have had the charger done to stage 4 and have new exhaust etc. I am looking for a mod that will improve the life and realiabilty of the engine before I start on any real perfomance upgrades (like chip, pulley etc). I was looking at PSD stand alone oil supply and seems a pretty good thing to have. Has anyone put on of these in? Are they simple to do? I do have some mechanical experience and dont mind getting my hands dirty but dont want to go at something that requires any deal of knowhow as i will prob wreak the charger or something! Is there any other mods you guys could recommend before doing that? Cheers Rich
