Are they absolutely necessary?
-
I got Bahn Brenner ones from the states. Cost about £70 including delivery and they use OE connectors so will have a good connection. VW wanted £100 for a set of new OE leads!!
-
I can answer number 2 for you cause I am doing mine at the moment. My local VW dealer wanted £36 for Quantum leads (which I have been informed you should avoid like the plague, and after seeing the state the quantum ones mine got into I agree) but £100 for OE!! I just got a set from Bahn Brenner for about £70 including delivery. BARGIN As for the dizzy cap and rotor arm local dealer charged just under £15 for both. They are cheaper at GSF but as I cant get to one so including delivery charge its about the same price. I agree with H100vw, just got some spark plugs from ebay for £20. A guy on there seems to have a couple of sets always for sale. I got mine in a few days after paying. Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies. If you dont mind me asking, how much are they?

I am hoping to start the install of my new Audioscape door pods this weekend and have been reading with interest how to do the sound proofing. I see that a 'Rain Stop' pad is required. Im not 100% what this is for. I have read the posts but still not sure where to get them from. Any help would be greatfully received Cheers

Hello Been trying to find a Rotor Arm for my '91 G60. Have gone to Halfords, they have nothing. Checking on the GSF website but only had rotor arm for the VR6. Will a MK2 golf one fit? Sorry if this has already been answered have spent ages looking through the forum but cant find answer. Thanks in advance

Same thing is happening to my G60 C, but mine dont misfire just struggles. When it gets hot its worse. Can stall after a journey, when I depress the clutch. Revs drop, then stalls. Very embarrasing if people are near by  Also when I floor it, it judders like its struggling. Guess the vacuum hose could need replacing as well. If its not one thing its another, lucky it makes me smile so much when she runs right :D

Sorry meant to press smilies button but hit submit. Must be time for lunch break!! What I was going on to say was I got a Focal 11" in the boot and I love it. Best of both worlds I would hazard to say! It really drops well but isnt stupid if im listening to mellow music. Looking forward to coupling it to the the GB door pods...... :)

Or go for a 11"

I would put my 2 cents in. I have Milltek on my and I love it (have a G60 though). I had mine lowered on Konigsports and havent had exhaust bang on anything (even though I live in speed bump world). And in my opnion the exhaust note is great, noticable but not stupid and cant really hear in the cabin with windows up as well so doesnt get annoying on long drives. It also looks lovely. Had it fitted by JMR and you may notice I am very happy with it :D

Ok thanks for all of the advice, looks like a trip to Halfrauds it is then!! This maybe a stupid question but because there has not been oil leaks under the car it is a bit rusty, even the sump is succumbing!! Will I need to do something about the rust first? I know I will need to get at it with a wire brush to take the flaky rust off but is the Waxoil a rust remedy or should I put some sort of rust remedy on first? Thanks again
-
Sounds like it could be caused by a bad earth? Check the grounding points. The wires for the stereo etc can be jogged by opening the glovebox as it is pretty cramped behind the dash, it could have been moving the earth wire and temporarly fixing the problem Not an expert though :|

Hello I am about to change my gearbox fluid and while I am there I am thinking of Waxoiling the underside of my car. Has anyone done this, I cant find it for sale anywhere. Where can I get it from? I have heard it comes in aerosol can or in a tin to paint on. Which one is better? Any help would be gratefully received

Ok my two cents: I had have one of JMR's mounts put on my C about a month and a half ago. All I can say is that I am extremely happy with it. The difference between the before and after is quite amazing. I can only say if you are in the market for a front engine mount you would be silly not to take a second look at a JMR one. I would recommend them without a second thought! :D

Hello All I am almost to embarressed to ask this question but here goes I am changing my suspension this weekend (to FK Konigsport) I am getting a friend to help me and we were looking at the parts last night. Although the FK's have new bump stops already my friend was saying you can get foam insets that compress when under load. Apparentely these make the ride better at the back. I dont know the offical name for these and that was really all I am after so when I phone up some places looking for them I dont look like a fool trying to explain waht I am after. Especially after my fiasco of a conversation with my Local VW dealer last night! Hope I have explained it well what I am after :?: excuse my ignorance

Intercooler Fitment(now with pics!!)
Son of a Beesting replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Engine Bay
Thanks for the advice guys, guess I should be old enough to know the dangers of impulse buying! I was told it would fit into the existing (with some modding) space. I believe the hoses come off so that might assist in the fitment. The guy who I brought it off says his mates runs one in his C, so I have asked for pics to help me. As I have it I might just try anyway. Any basic rules I need to keep in mind? Does it matter which way round it goes, etc? Sorry if this is a silly question but its my first foray into forced induction motoring! -

Great. Guess that will teach me for impulse buying. Been saving for months for this C up till now been happy with all purchases! :( Dont suppose anyone has an Audi 2.5 TDI they need a new intercooler for? I have one which aint much use to me  Thanks for the advice tho guys, at least it saves me a day of cursing at that the thing. -

ooooooooook. not what I was wanting to hear. I was told it could go but only with some modding. Do I take it by your responses I should substitue some for LOTS! I knew it would require pipe work.......work Is it worth even trying, or is a case of it being a wasted day taking everything off just to find it wont fit? Not knowing a great deal about intercooler working, I presume that not placing in the front of the C would reduce the working capacity? Does it need a direct flow of air?? :( :( -
I've got standard BBS wheels on my C G60. I have also just brought some FK Konigsport suspensions for it. Looking on the website it says I may need spacers. As I brought them second hand I dont have the manual to go with it so dont know if I do or I dont! Does anyone know? Also is there anywhere where I can download the manual for these as it might be handy! Thanks

Just got a new intercooler for my C. Its off an audi 2.5 TDI. I am going to fit it in the coming weeks and I am looking for a bit of advice on fitment ideas! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All The BBS rims on my C are in need of a bit of TLC. There are by no means shot but just a little kerbed. I do like them and would like to do a little work on them to make them look sparkly and new again. Was wondering if anyone knew of a kit or something I could get to re-furb them. As I said they are only slightly kerbed and the rest of the wheel is fine so dont think I really need send it off to get done. Any ideas?
