It's a shame the MK5 R32 has not really lived up to expectations, although I have not driven either, I think I would be hamkering for a remapped MK5 GTI if possible...Although if it's new hatches we're talking about, I'm very interested in the new Focus ST.

Definitley sounds like an ignition fault, can you see any blue sparks when it is idling, (and obviously helps if it is night time) because that's the prob I had on my VR, new plugs and leads, job done...

Yes they are very nice indeed, as is the Passat, real motorway munchers, but if you want to be shook by a diesel then go test drive a 330D.....

Yea new Mondeao TDCI is good, but still doesn't have as much bhp or torque as the new PD unit's so nothing to shout about, and the new 2.0 PD's still have higher bhp per litre then even the new 2.2 175 Verso engine.

Dont mean to be pedantic, but you sure the corolla had a turbo? I love Jap cars, there well specced up compared to most european cars but horses for courses really.

yep, had a mk2 Fiesta too, hated it at the time, but I look back at it and chuckle to myself, it wasnt that bad, well for how much I paid anyway. Have heard these C4's are very refined but I just cant comprehend how anyone can be that stupid!

Yea I do really like the sound of that engine... Has very good reviews in the Avensis too. Apparently VW are going to drop the pd units strarting with the next polo unit.

Yea, the Corrado has to be right up there, but I really like the old Cooper S.. but should be behind the VR, and keep voting the crapp saxo out!

pah, 143k on original chains... engine as strong as ever, had it compression tested and came back good results.

I had a Passat TDI auto as a company car, and it really grew on me, because I was doing 100 miles a day it was just almost too easy to drive to the point where I almost fell asleep, just wanted to cruise at 100mph all day long if I could. Listening to the turbo spin down with the windows was fun around town too., almost addictive. I would get a manual 130 tdi tho and get it mapped, wouldn't advice 18s on the passat tho, handling is pretty bad even with factory alloys. so will prob make acceleration worse too.

Is it just me that thinks it looks very un like a Ferrari? I love NSX's tho.

Yea, that ones much better, don't really think the corrado looks good with any kind of body kit. A flip paint job might look pretty good tho.

Not sure if it was the same spec as a touring car,but it is the same 2.0 unit all CTR's have.

The cars look nice, what set up is the teg? bet that is best to drive, and as for sticking 170bhp in 1.2 Nova, might be best described as "Fun" Bit of a sweeping generalisation tho, don't think any of the cars will be "Raping" a charged VR such as Kevs or the others on here, as you so eloquently put it.

Well perhaps if they put a nice fat turbo on the next VR it would be competing with these cars, but at the moment, looks like it will be targeting more the 350Z, RX8 market. I do really like the Skyline R33/Supra's but really think they look better in the more stealth way, not with massive graphics down the side.

Nah, R34 defo looks better then R33. But that beast looks brilliant! Think there pitching it up against the 911, so it had better be.
