  1. Yea, I wouldn't really mind if it was somewhere like g werks, but a VW dealership, NAH! They will prob just thrash it, and aren't even enthusiasts...
  2. nah, liberties mate, if they did 17 miles in mine I would be straight on to the manager, they have probably taken your car out for more then a spin and driven it fairly hard. I'm taking mine in on saturday, but only for fault diagnosis. I don't trust VW dealers.
  3. not really, thats a bit of a misconception, I had a zx td, and build is the same as any french car really, can't speak for others but my electrics were fine. Just had a look on ebay, and there are some intergalactic mileage hdi's going very cheap, LOL.
  4. the 205/306 D turbo would be a very good bet, as would a citroen ZX TD. I would avoid n/a diesels if poss, I had a 205 1.8grd, very reliable indeed, but also a bit sluggish. or perhaps even a mk3 gold tdi. jap cars, honda civic would be good, but less mpg.
  5. Is 16vG60 got a g60 tho or a n/a 16v?
  6. so who actually has the most powerful valver then?
  7. don't know when it's repeated, wasn't a particularly good one, except for the new boxster s.
  8. Hya, not too up on the 2.0 16v engine but think as was mentioned, cams,head,inlet/exhaust manifold as well as exhaust and filter would be best. You might see me around, Im in Sittingbourne!
  9. don't think it's the ignition really, it's more an intermittent thing as you accelerate, particularly at low revs, 2nd gear is usually ok and it is as quick as ever. It seems to be more notieable in 3/4th gear. So now I am thinking it is a)MAF B)Crank sensor c)ISV d)ECU e)somewhere along the ignition I'm going to take it in to VW this saturday and see what VAGCOM comes up with........
  10. Bahaha, oh yes! well, I know it's in the autumn, and we're in october so I reckon it will prob be in in a couple of weeks! hopefully they will have someone a bit interesting like Gazza on it, otherwise I won't watch it, bunch of premadonas moaning becuase there careers have failed and there about to make a mint after going in there, gees, some people are ungrateful..LOL
  11. oh I know, but this guy is hilarious, right joker. Just sums up the show really tho, the fact that he has made it thru to the final 7 out of how ever many hundreds of thousands that auditioned! Still, you can look forward to that get me outa here celebrity cra* ay Baz! LOL
  12. haha, yea, maybe make it 4wd and 6speed while you'r at it. LOL
  13. Sheez, forget about that, how come your hanging out round the beach at 5am? LOL. Hope you get it sorted and for not too much dosh dude.
  14. Cool, just been watching that Xtra factor, LOL, how on earth did that Chico character get thru? I mean he's really funny but he can't sing for shi*! Seems like buying those flowers for Shazza paid off!
  15. Think they are only really reviewing new/ish cars re the cool wall, but IF the Corrado were there, naturally, it would be in the SUB ZERO section, LOL.
  16. After looking at the S3's they are very tempting too, really nice interior and seem to be going for a fair price on ebay. But the gtv's are much cheaper, and look prettier. If it wasn't for the S3's being so tuneable I would defo get the Alfa I think.
  17. Am I the only one who was a bit disappointed with sin city? don't get me wrong, visually it was one of the best films I have ever seen, but the dialogue was woeful, especially Micky Rourke. Oh and top gear, the Boxster s looks really nice...
  18. Yea, I have also heard a few horror stories about the TT, I do really like the interior tho, and a remapped 225 would be pretty quick too.
  19. WOW! Know what you mean about Alfa's I'm tempted to get one of those 3.0V6 GTV thingy's, but I would probably bottle it and get a TT instead! LOL
  20. ah yes, but where can I VAGCOM it? is this a tool that my local VW garage will have? cheers
  21. Hi mat, just doing some research as I have exactley the same prob on my VR na dmy first thought was it is probably the crank sensor as you also suggested. My VR stutters, when under acceleration, and is also not idling as well as it used to, how can you be 100% tho it is the crank sensor? I dont have VAGCOM, will taking it to the stealers be a good idea? cheers
  22. yea me too, if it was for an every day car, get an s3 and remap it, handling might not be quite as good but I reckon that would be outweighed m=by the car generally. But an S3 can't be had for £6k anyway so bit of a pointless comparison.
  23. the C is soo good, just not soo reliable, mine has been off the road a fair amount of time although if you got a low mileage VR it will probably have less things go wrong as a general rule.
  24. Your C sounds very nice, but they don't seem to be fetching that much these days, I reckon if you are prepared to wait, you will get a fair amount for yours tho. I have heard some people prefer the S3 to the 225TT, but I would be very tempted to get the TT, what about a 225 Leon R tho? probably a bit quicker then an S3 once rolling, being FWD.
  25. Cheers, would I have to take it to the VW dealership to plug in to VAGCOM? Don't think it's ignition as all changed recently but can't be 100%, hopefully won't be a major thing anyway..
