    Bored in here

    My owner is the greatest!
  3. I'll get it up next week when I get the part number for the outer sleeve
  4. ive not ordered anything yet, just got prices
  5. I think I found the problem... I gave him the list of part numbers on the post 1. which says that the corrado column is part no. 535 419 536 the actual part no. according to the diagram in post 2, is 535 419 563! :) if you would be so kind as to edit post no.1 that would be great! other than that, top info mr. would you like the prices I got to update the list?
  6. ive just got a list of prices back from TPS using the parts listed on the first page, but I don't think he could find the corrado specific fixed outer tube part no. 535 419 536, can anyone confirm that is the correct part number please?
  7. The thing with the tfsi is that there is no easy way of mounting it in the Corrado chassis. None of the mounts are the same. Where as on the 1.8t you can basically move the mounts to the Corrado positions, the 2.0l won't have any of that. So I was looking at welding mk5 mounts onto the chassis leg and trying to fit the dog bone mount aswell. Not that easy. The second problem is getting the wiring sorted. There isn't any stand alone around at the moment as far as I know that will run the high pressure fuel system. So that means fitting the VAG ecu which as you know operates everything with canbus. You won't be fitting half the stuff from a mk5 into a Corrado so you have a few things to get around. Next bit is custom drive shafts. Gearbox is too big to fit into the Corrado. It could be done, and has been done here. It just requires alot of time and money thrown at it.
  8. tfsi into a corrado is a chore. been looking into it and its not cheap. lots of fabrication as there aren't any bits on the shelf yet. VRT on standalone management with 450bhp will be alot easier than a 350bhp 2.0 tfsi with a manual gearbox, let alone dsg!
  9. I think Chris Harris is the best writer for evo, I love his work and I'm not one bit surprised he wrote that!he says what most people won't. Is anyone surprised that Ferrari mug their customers and fans off like that? Probably not! I'm a bit annoyed, but not surprised. It's a shame because like Chris says, the cars stand up on their own merits anyway by all accounts. Oh well, Ferrari cheat shock, again
  10. It's a long shot on here but I'm after the stuff needed for the fixed steering column mod. Pre 95 adjustable polo column etc. Anybody?! Cheers, Rob

    GSF? Not very expensive
  12. well done with the forum Andy, looks like a lot of work has been done. Thanks for sorting my password out aswell. donation will be made next week
  13. Put them as thumbnails, they should then be clickable. Progress is slow because pete didn't buy me a birthday or Christmas present! I mean come on!! Plus he hasn't paid the heating bill where he keeps the car, so the car is currently entombed in a block of ice!
  14. a lad on a local forum bought a 20v and ecu for his mk1 from my mate, and roped a load of people in to help do the conversion. I had never met the bloke before, but I got roped in and got stuck in. He himself admitted that he was useless with tools, but he promised limitless tea and fish and chips for lunch. He did any donkey work we asked him to and was good to his word about the tea! he's now a good mate of mine and would do anything to help me out in return. If you were closer to me I would be the first to say I'll help you out. maybe you need to be thinking about organising a corrado forum weekend out! you supply the beer, the tea, somewhere to kip and in return your car gets renovated over a weekend!
  15. Apologies gents, I got back from egypt this morning so this is my first chance to catch up on this thread. Ill speak to the chap who is selling the bits, get some pictures and some prices. I can't remember a third brake light, but I wasn't paying that much attention! Just saw the plinth. The rear bumper has no towing eye recess. The front bumper has standard indicators but aftermarket crystal side markers, which look awful to me but that's life! Anyway, back to the original question, what's it worth!? If he still has them then a sale thread will be up in due course
  16. I'm afraid this is a bit of a what's it worth question... US spec front and rear bumpers in reasonable condition and a US spec tailgate in good condition except for a tiny bit of bubbling on the bottom lip of the numberplate plinth (US blank type thing). I know someone selling these but have no idea what they are worth? I dont want to put an advert up with his ridiculous prices! Any help is appreciated as always!
  17. ill have a measure, see how much clearance I have
  18. boxster brembos. pretty wide but as you say, the offset eats the calipers!
  19. The metal cap isn't wrong, it's just not sitting right. It's sitting far too high. You either need more thread on the end of the piston (to screw the cap down further) or it's your top mount letting the piston sit too high (like it's too thin)
  20. I would have said the top mounts are the problem. Looks like they are allowing the shock to sit too high. We are assuming that you have screwed the metal cap all the way down? Trouble is, that cap stops the shock dropping down when the weight is taken off the suspension, which might be interesting on a rough bit of road
  21. Do a search. I run Audi tt seats on custom brackets. Anything will fit if you try hard enough
  22. I bought a set off mr baby. Can honestly say these were some of the best packaged parts I've ever received! Good price with quick delivery. Combined with a set of hoses from c&r and you have a decent set up! Handbrake is spot on now!
