  1. A focus rs is 300 bhp though! But little events like that don't put you off doing the conversion!
  2. I remember when my pipe popped off once, it made the loudest noise and sounded like I have just blown the engine. Then the car had no power with loads of turbo whistle. 2 mins later and with 1 replaced pipe we were back in the game. Don't go thrashing it around with the bigger turbo on without checking the fueling. The knock sensors should sort most of the fueling out, but you may be out still and running lean
  3. Sounds like a blown boost pipe to me. Possibly faulty ignition amplifier with running bad under load. But the lack of boost is classic blown pipe. Did it go bang?
  4. have you tried changing the belt? i wouldn't put a solid tensioner on there, try changing the belt first then sourcing a tensioner second

    Flocking

pictures pictures pictures! love flocked stuff and i'm interested
  6. you could keep all sorts of spares in there. track rod ends, wheel bearings or gearknobs for example
  7. yeah you can buy argon from argos, you need the special code to ask at the counter though
  8. We have meets on Thursday nites if it's any help? Where in Norfolk are you?
  9. not really much idea about tig welding yet but you do need gas. only just learning to mig weld myself. with regards to power requirements, it depends what welder you are using.
  10. that is a very well constructed argument against the report there Karl
  11. that would be an ambitious first welding project for you Kev!! i'd quite fancy that one! haven't got a tig welder though :(
  12. going by that ebay post, your interior must be worth £10000 on its own! £125 and its BROKEN! :brickwall:

    new fuel pump

The g60 one is an all in one unit. The valver runs a lift pump and main pump underneath the car. My g60 pump worked out the best part of £200 with the new fuel guage sender you need. The original g60 pump is obsolete, so you need the later version and hence the new sender. I'm not sure how the vr pump works? Same thing as the g60? Gsf won't sell the pump, it's a genuine job so TPS if you can. Pm me if you get stuck
  14. the panel replaces all the existing trim. mine fitted ok?
  15. so people who work in petrol stations are cleverer than most but have yet to fulfil their potential?
  16. Unfortunately DCmonkey isn't being a model police officer to back his own case. You can't say that not all police officers are mini hitlers and then be insulting yourself. Threatening the guy with harassment is bang out of order aswell. Some things should not be said aloud, let alone on an Internet forum... It's a good job the police are funded by my tax money and not privately, i dont think anyone would pay for that sort of service. There may well be some good coppers out there, but it only takes one bad grape to spoil a bottle of wine (so I remember reading!)
  17. You won't get problems with a manual boost controller. I think there is provision for that. No a k04 won't bolt to a k03 manifold
  18. Why would you want to do that? Doesn't sound very professional to me? Sounds like an abuse of power...
  19. it doesn't matter how nice you are. if you get an a hole one then they will be a p*ick regardless. i always treat people how i would like them to treat me. so if they are nice then ill play nice, if not then i won't take their crap because they are on a power trip
  20. Go have a look at the software kev. It's called easimap 5 and you can download it off the net. Don't think its a diet version
  21. I've just started to weld and bought a 130a SIP welder and it's ace. It's got 6 settings for the power and variable wire speed feed which is great. Will weld up to 3.5mm and ive welded some really thin tin together aswell with it. I even made the robot in my avatar!
  22. The basic difference between a k04 engine and a k03 engine is the turbo, injectors and manifold. Qpeng charge about £50 if you needed a different map at a later date. There are different variations on the engines aswell. Some have big port heads, some have forged internals and some run variable valve timing. If you get a post 2002 k03 engine it will have the later k03 turbo which makes more power than an early k03.
  23. qpeng use MBE engine management which is stand alone. it uses the original lambda probe, coolent temp sensor, air intake sensor, throttle position switch and crank position switch. you need to install a MAP sensor on top. they have maps to suit whichever engine you put in, but expect around 270bhp for a K04 turbo engine. the maps are pretty conservative and safe, but very well executed all the same. ive done a few conversions now and have used qpeng everytime, its just so easy!
