I used Genesis Audiophiles and they sound lovely in the enclosures. I've stuck the tweeters in the factory locations - it was very simple to do and doesn't add much time to installation

You can get good power but you'd be better off by pairing it up with a flowed head, cams and other things to make the most of all the extra air you can suck in. The power is likely to be in the upper reaches of the rev range too (which is OK if that's your bag)

Oh :( I wanted to ask them a question about my Lupo wipers :( Poxy recession! :censored:

Anyone know if vagparts have gone under? It's just that their website is offline, their e-mail system is bouncing everything back and the phone seems to be permanently engaged?

Mine didn't either (it was J reg)

shawshankkid's 91 G60. Original registration back on.

I love the original G60 BBS's. I can't see why people never stick with them. They just suit the retro lines of the Corrado perfectly and yours is such a great example too. -
New car acquired! Still German but not VW...

First up, I managed to Photoshop out that sign from a few posts up! Also a bit of an update on the car. It's been running fine recently but the body does need some attention. The laquer peel on the wing was spreading: And whilst washing the car the other I noticed that my whole bonnet has developed acne (well it is 16 years old): I booked it into the local coachworks for that to be sorted plus the anti chip to be resprayed on the sills plus some rust ground out on the bottom of the driver's door. Some progress pics: Stripped bonnet: Laquer peel area: Bonnet off and covered in dust :D : Can't wait to see the car with resprayed wings and a bonnet with no stone chips! -
I've had a Corrado with an uprated loom and now one with HIDs. The thing that strikes me from having experienced both methods of improving the lighting situation is that the Corrado lens is poor so you'll always have a diffused beam pattern if you're using standard optics. For me putting a brighter bulb/better loom or HID bulb in means you're getting more of the same. So more light but still crap beam pattern. So it's better because there's more light but still not ideal. As for HIDs and MOTs - Mine sailed through. In fact the tester commented on how bright the lights were! EDIT - Mine are 6000Ks incidentally and look like this (not really blue):

Good stuff - glad other people can benefit! 8) -
As they say 'when it rains it pours'. It's such a downer when everything goes wrong all at once!
-
Very nice. Did you also go for the VR 1st and 2nd?

They're just sooo loud and annoying those BBM things. You could try a Rotrex though: http://stormdevelopments.co.uk/powered-by-rotrex.html

Absolutely, and so many other variables. That's why it's so important to make sure your engine's in good health to begin with
-
 OMG. What on earth is the point.

I'd steer very clear of Jabba having seen the quality of their porting and omitting key parts from their 'stage 4' rebuilds. You won't go wrong with G-Werks or JMR :)
-
Well the 1 bar obviously - all things being equal. But I'd rather have a set up with a more efficient engine that consumes more boost and shows less on the gauge.
-
I'm not sure those wheels really suit the Corrado - have a look at some of the pics on the forum and see what you like the look of. Also the induction kit and uprated clutch are both unnecessary. I can recommend the KW coilovers though.

Looks very nice. I'd sort the lacque peel out asap. You can buff it down and try to blend it but moisture and cack will always work its way under the laquer. Mine's off to the bodyshop next week for a partial re-spray to address that very issue :)

other things to consider when lowering the corrado!!

That stance looks perfect :) It's worth setting it up right at the beginning. -
I'd get new springs for the Konis.

What they all said! I'd definitely get a small oil cooler - G60s run hot when they're boggo standard let alone when you breathe on them. Another few things I'd add which are purely my personal thoughts based on a couple years of G60 ownership: Make sure the engine is in good health to begin with before you start stressing it more. Run a diagnostic check through it and check for boost leaks (smear Fairy round the joins and look for bubbles) Don't pay too much attention to boost pressure - boost pressure is only unused air queuing up in the inlet manifold because the engine can't use it. Think of the engine as an air pump, the more efficient it is the less boost pressure you'll see (see recommendations on porting etc) I wouldn't bother with boost return. It's noisy, can cover your engine in oil mist and means you have to manually lube the charger Don't bother with any kind of open air filter and bear in mind that the best filtration (for your fragile and old blower which costs £800 to replace) is the OE paper filter. Read into that what you will! There's a tuning guide here too: http://fastpurple.com/wiki/g60_tuning_guide.html

There are a few places which I'd happily take a G-Lader to for a re-build, G-Werks, JMR and Stealth all have excellent reputations. There are some markings on the supercharger which I presume whoever did the re-build etched onto it. When JMR did mine he stamped on 'S4 JMR' so this could be a similar mark someone's made. It's a real pain that's it's blown but you might find that the place that did it might exercise some goodwill. Alternatively, as you're a different owner to who had the work done, there could be little comeback to be had. When it's this cold it's so important to warm the engine up slowly and make sure your oil's nice and warm before you give it beans, especially as the G-Lader shares its oil supply with the engine. They also hate hitting the rev limiter which is quite abrupt on G60s - it tends to 'shock' the charger. If you need to source another blower I'm sure Darren from G-Werks could find one. EDIT - You might want to amend the title of the thread with 'hole' rather than 'whole'

Cheers :)
