Certainly for a VR 10W/40 is the standard recommended viscosity anyway so we should be okay shouldn't we?
-
The Corrado is too heavy really for Greens - they melt a little too easily.

Help me to decide...Alfa 156 / 166 or Golf 4Motion

166 - You know it makes sense. That would make a cracking Le Mans machine. Big fast and comfy -
I'd try 32 all round and see how she feels

There's been a fair bit of discussion on poly vs. standard bushes on here and most folks use standard bushes. You'll probably find some poly users though. have you tried calling Powerflex?

It's 36 f 32 r on my VR :)

17 inch rims and lowering - will it mess up the handling?

Having a had a few cars now and having messed about with all of them (bar my trusty 205 diesel ;-) ) I -
I'd rather have a sunroof which is relilable and the leccy windows. For me, having the sunroof tilted on motorway journeys is essential to actually keep the car at a bearable temperature in the summer with no AC - especially in the VR where there's a fair amount of heatsoak from the engine and cat' up through the 'transmission tunnel'.

I've noticed that the homepage of Brazil's largest newspaper is completely devoid of any F1 news!! http://www.folha.uol.com.br/

How much were the wipers if you don

Nicely composed pics!

I got an HID kit and I've never looked back. Infinitely clearer vision, you can actually drive the car at night properly now

Awesome pics. Just added you as a flickr contact if you don't mind :)

Well the cooler requires air to pass through it to work so oil coolers won't do anything when the car is stationary. Just like the radiator except that has a fan which kicks in to draw air over the fins when the coolant gets too hot i.e typically when the car is stationary. You can fit a fan onto your oil cooler if you like but 110-112 isn't desperately high.

Showoff!

No worries :) John took my old crappo one off and I've been happy ever since!

Mr oilman, I wonder if you could recommend me an oil and I've just seen your latest deal which only runs for a few days. Here's the tech lowdown: > 2.9 VR - 126,000 miles - head rebuild at ca. 100K > Road use only > It currently runs on the VW Synta Silver and probably uses about a litre every 1000 miles > Mods are limited to a filter and exhaust so it's pretty much boggo standard > I use the car for most things, daily short journeys, longer mway stuff and the occassional spirited drive over the local Ashdown Forest :shades: > Temperatures get pretty low during the night as I live in a bit of a hollow - not sure if that affects the viscosity for cold starts > Temps get up to 108-110 on motorways I noticed all the recommendations on the website are high performing semis yet on this site you seem much keener on full synths. I'm amazed at how cheap the semis are when compared at what VW are charging for Synta Silver at the moment. Thanks very much

Sold the Corrado...but check out the new motor!!!
Neil VR6 replied to stel g60's topic in General Car Chat
I'd love an S2K. Good looking, RWD, cracking motor, convertible and Honda-reliability. -
I caught the end of this

If you're based in the south I'd definitely take it to JMR or G-Werks for a health check.
-
Unlikley to be the battery - they tend to die over time. Can you check the cells in each bit of the battery to check they're all full of water. My money's on ignition switch too.
-
I wouldn't go as big as 18 on a Corrado. Just my view though.
-
I know that JMR's courtesy car (Mk 3 GTi) has 280 (or 288) 4-pot Hi-Specs behind standard 15 inch wheels. They've got to be better than a normal pad/disc upgrade?

Loads around M3 and M4 junctions. Some of it are surprisingly camera free though.
