My mates one is a GTXII with a 1.8i?

My mates got one actually. If it's got a factory fitted "body kit", make sure you have a very good like around it as rot is the biggest problem which the kit can hide. Sciroccos' mechanicals are simple and lots of engines were put in it. Fuel injected engines are best and much easier for cold starts. Also, the carb ones can be a bit unreliable. The 1.8i is the 8v from the Mk 2 Gti I think and is very torquey and goes quite nicely. Brakes are generally poor though and require a good heave. Still, the car is old and when it was released I'm sure its brakes were comparable to similar cars of its ilk. Oh, and reds fade like nobody's business!

I fitted some Zimmerman drilled discs and Pagid fast road pads to my G60 not long ago. They have just bedded in and they have a discernable difference in stopping power over standard. They work fine from cold and the whole lot only cost me £129 delivered from GSF. Bargain!

I'm getting new wishbones (with bushes), ball joints and drop links & bushes fitted with my new coilovers soon. Can't wait! The car handles like a bag of bolts at the moment so I can't wait to get it all overhauled. I got my bits from GSF and said I was a member of the forum and the guy gave me 10% off! Cost me £118 I think in the end which I thought was very good value. I tried http://www.vwspares.co.uk but the website didn't work and the phone rang off the hook.

Do remember though that 16VG60 does Milltek's for £265 for a G60 system

You may wish to use the search function as everyone has a different take on exhausts. I'm a Milltek man myself and use 16VG60 for all the work on my car. Horses for courses though! ;)

I use a JMR front engine mount too, much better and cheaper!

Could you not fit a filtered cold air feed to the second inlet instead of a boost return?

16VG60 is doing this for me on Saturday and I think he uses guttering as well!
