You could maybe get a Supra twin turbo at that price? RX-7 is a good bet if you get a good one and use some premix, I dont know where you got the idea that there bad on track from...

I suppose the wheels could make the difference thats causing us to disagree over this, I found it perfect on country roads with the eibach arb's, koni coilovers, powerflex bushes but I was running standard speedlines, so the give in the tyres could be what made this setup. I notice your running bigger wheels now so the above set up probably wouldnt work the same.

Corrados roll, its a fact. The engine is very heavy, pretty high up and well forwards. Going into a corner this all pushes onto the outside front wheel. A front arb will help big time with this though it wont eliminate it. Adding the rear arb alone just allowes the opposite corner to get airborne earlier. As I said, it will make the car drive differently, maybe it will feel better but thats down to personal opinion. Both arb's, the car can corner faster and flatter FACT. I dont deny there are downsides to the front arb though, such as on uneven road surfaces where it may pull about a bit more etc and it can be twitchier in the wet.

Get both arb's or its just pointless. Having the rear only is pretty pointless, it makes the car feel a bit different to drive but its not any faster, but then fit the front and a bit of understeer will be introduced. This is the point you can stiffen the rear dampers up a bit and find the car is perfectly balance and can corner MUCH faster than it did previously.

Does anyone think hammond spun the 300 intentionaly to make better tv as it was just too good for the test?

Rado vs Rice : a little test, which do you prefer?

Rice all the way!!! Not that specific Supra though :gag: -
Whats the best MPG anyones had out of a Corrado?
Joe M replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
Best I had was from the vr when it had vgi+268's, 39.9mpg on a 400 mile drive to Elgin and back. Im missing that consumption just now, best ive had from the RX-8 is 18mpg!!! -
Yeah, I know how you fe... wait a minute, full climate control, woooo 8)
-
Yeah, I think they turn on with the rear demister switch, same as the mirrors.

There heated, not really needed, they probably havent worked for years.
-
Lookin good, did you remember to plug the heated seats back in unlike myself? lol

VR6 dies after going over a pothole....STILL DOING IT!
Joe M replied to easypops's topic in Engine Bay
Yeah, I picked it up on the Saturday after you got the vr. Only got to do a couple of hundred miles in it though as up until last night I was stuck in the North Sea. Loving it though, speed wise its very similar to the vr but the rear wheel drive is awesome and its just good to be driving something different after 8 years of Corrados. Im sure ill get another at some point in the future though. :) -

Did you get this sorted? Im still puzzled as to the cause, it never done it once when I had it. -

Gutted :( I was sure you would get many miles of trouble free motoring for a while before any of the ineveitable vr problems. As I said in the txt, sounds very immobiliser like. Its also similar to when the fuel pump died, it cut out then tried to start a few times, cutting out after a second or so, but it was replaced with new from vag so I doubt it will be that again. Definately listen for it to make sure its priming when you turn the ignition on though. -
It takes a bit longer to wind up, but keep the revs high and looking at the speedo its definately quicker. Doesnt neccessarily feel it though.
-
Some pics of the new car. 8) Id say its a bit quicker on the straights than the vr was when it had the cams and stuff, but grips way more. Havent found the limits yet. Also very comfortable for cruising along the road, probably worse for road noise than the vr though.

Glad you enjoyed the drive home, did you put the foot down at all? :norty:
-
So yeah, after the engine blowing ive kinda gone quiter on the forum since, it cost me a fair bit to get fixed and since then I dont think ive ever been as enthusiastic about the car. Dont get me wrong, it was great again once the engine was replaced but id just lost interest. Cams, schrick and quaiffed gearbox were all sold over the last few years and now 5 minutes ago, the vr6 drove off from my house for the last time with its new owner who is a forum member and im sure will look after it. Now, for the first time since January 2001, im Corrado, and car less. :( :( Never mind, I should be picking up the replacement over the weekend, ill put a few pics up of it once shes arrived. :)

350z was my first choice for a corrado replacement. i couldnt live with only 2 seats though so have a deposit down for the better looking Mazda RX-8 which I should be picking up on saturday. :D

I would have thought a braided line that long would introduce some sponginess into the pedal. ok, they dont expand under pressure like normal flexihoses but they will expand more than the copper line.
-
Thanks for the offer, but I wouldnt buy a brand new car. Im looking at an RX-8 and they are about 20k new or 11k for a year old one.
-
Do you think they would take an mot'd vr with the leather interior removed and solid bars replacing the coilovers? Would be fun driving it there.
-
Pity it doesnt apply to newish used cars, id consider it with the raddo. lol
-
If your talking a DC2 then a good one can be had for 5 or 6 grand. The DC5's are considerably more expensive at 11k plus. Worth it? I would say yes.

Theres a big difference between the integra and civic/prelude. Its a proper focused track car and will run rings round the other 2.
