VR6, :thumbleft: vr6storm, good call, ill catch grim when hes online and am planning on phoning Star tommorow. Im pretty sure Dick Dastardly got his from http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/ so im waiting on a price back from them as well. Do u know if your going to have the vr at Kames on Sunday? wouldnt mind that passenger run before commiting to coilovers.

In the dry I can floor it in first with no wheelspin. 8) Its one mod you really wont regret spending the cash on. I think ill go for the Koni coilovers tbh, been considering them for a while, its just now they've moved to the top of a very long list. Will Vince replace your current chip or copy over it? Its just im sure the old chip could come in handy. -

In a long time. :( Just been changing my rear top mounts and found that the rear suspension is still red sachs, wich will explain some handling issues ive been having. Guess where my moneys going next... -
Looks like Konis have moved to the top of my next mods list. Founs out today when changing my rear top mounts that the rear suspension is still the original red sachs shocks with the lowered springs. That'll explain the understeer im getting then considering its Koni TA's on the front. So wheres the cheapest place to buy Koni coilovers? Do I need anything else to fit them or do they use the standard top mounts? (Theve all been recently replaced, and all bushes are powerflex.)

8) not here yet. Hopefully tommorow then. :D -
Theres always ebay for selling the 288's on if you decide there not enough, and if they are good enough think of the cash saved to go towards a quaife diff. :-P

Its hard for me to judge tbh, I find the braking, including the initial bite is massively improved and the pedal definately feels more solid with the goodridge hoses. I dont think this is completely due to the upgrade though, if youd seen my old disks and pads you would understand, they was practically no material left on the pads and they were only making contact with about half of the back of the disk. I know Roddy drove my car before the upgrade and reckoned my brakes felt similar to his though, so there probably is a worthwhile improvement. For the price the calipers and carriers can be had for though, and if you need disks and pads anyway, its definately the most cost effective upgrade.
-
Though it would be nice ive spent so much on the car recently and theres still other stuff I want to do. Considering ive just done the 288 upgrade brakes are far from top of my list. :(
-
The only thing I hate about my C is that everytime I drive it im thinking about what I "need" to upgrade next.

Heres the Hi Spec site. http://www.f-inbigbrakes.co.uk/index.htm And they list VW Corrado Ø285/24mm Billet 4 Conversion £480.00 So a good bit cheaper than Tarox, they look good too. I reckon even though they will fit behind 15"s theres a good chance spacers could be required as well.
-
Good choice, been considering getting a test drive in a teg myself recently. 8) Id say Integra Type R if you want a car for putting the foot down everywhere or an E36 M3 if you want something more refined.
-
Back to the steering, how bad is the actual problem? Does it affect the handling of the car or is it more of an annoying click from the steering at slow speeds and bumpy surfaces?
-
Doesnt that just mean they never started checking for a cat until after aug'94, but since then they check all cars newer than aug'92? :? They failed (2 different mot stations) my 16v for no cat and it was a '93 K plate.
-
Are you getting rid of the vibratech wishbone bushes?
-
Stick them on and see what you think then, if your happy with them there would be no need to go for coilovers, if you then do decide to go for the coilovers you can still sell the adjustables on.
-
Depends what rpm and how much power the engines putting out at 145mph though, the engine might have passed its peak power and started dropping at 145mph. :?
-
I tried one of these a few years back on my 2.0 16v, couldnt get it to work either. Took it back to Halfords and the guy wasnt surprised at all and gave me a refund without question.
-
Good results there, one thing ive been curious about though, why didnt you just swap the schrick and stuff over from the black vr to the blue one?
-
Is it like that all the time? I know mine starts first time every time when cold but when the engines hot then it does turn over for a bit, usually catches second go. Could just be a vr thing...
-
I wouldnt worry too much about this air intake sensor, I tried unplugging mine after seeing this thread and cant say I noticed any difference to the running. It also might be worth trying to run off a bit of a batch of them chips as im hoping to get a set of 268's later in the year. :-P
-
Or vr6 calipers and carriers that are the same.

Cheers :thumbleft: , found what I was looking for on his site.
