Ive been with Elephant over a year now with no problems, never had to make a claim though. I also found out about the mother thing about 8 months into the first year and when I added her got a part refund. My cousin (ill try and get him to post on it) had to make a claim with them and they were very good, though the garage the car went to wasnt the best. Not elephants fault though. You might want to check out Eug's thread though, as he's just had to make a claim and has had a few problems.

G60, E30 M3 is a nice car but they are only available in LHD, I dont think i could live with that. Pau1, If I was going the 20vt route id try and find a cheaper c, but I like the sound of the 16vt and Mikes car has a recently rebuilt engine (though the bottom end would need work for fi) so if I could get a hold of the turbo kit it would be ace. randal_24, Im keen to see that as well, especially in a stripped out C with coilovers, uprated arb's and so on...

Been considering a few things but can't decide, any thoughts on this appreciated. 1. E36 BMW M3 - Would make a nice change and RWD would be fun, but TBH, I doubt I could afford the running costs and they dont have a great image about here. 2. Honda Integra Type R - I like this option a lot, great handling car but not any quicker than the VR in a straight line and at about the same purchase price as an M3 I doubt I could afford many mods to make it quicker. 3. Mike Edwards 16v and Turbo kit if still available - im favoured towards this option along with 2 at the moment. The car could be stripped out to be very light, stiffen up the shell and save for a 6speed with peloquin diff. Mikes car seems ideal for this as its already got Koni coilovers and Brembos. The other obvious one is to just keep the vr and do more to that, but its a great car as it is along with the fact that a lot of the stuff thats already been upgraded would need to be upgraded again it seems to make more sense to sell it on. (I would likely want to upgrade to coilovers, it already has konis. Id want bigger wheels, but just got refurbed speedlines, the 6 speed box would be mad, as ive just got the quaife fitted, so on.) Any thoughts on the above options appreciated, refinement of the car isnt an issue as I dont do many motorway miles and can manage without a car for work if need be.

Thats a problem you get with the bentley on xp, you need to go into internet options, security tab, then add http://127.0.0.1 to the trusted site section.
-
You dont need one, just close that page then click return to repair information. The main menu page should then open.
-
Yeah, I agree with Mike, use a bit of trail braking, back end starts to step out then floor it. Quaife helps big time with this. 8)

Have you tried cleaning out your isv?

8) I wonder if thats my old throttle body. :-P

10w40 semi synth, vw's silver synta is perfect for them.

Nothing to do with the current problem, but I read its better to use the standard chip with nos as when the cars remapped with other chips the timing is advanced and can cause problems.
-
How does it handle?

Schrick shouldnt really do anything for the quarter mile, once the cars moving the revs will be kept aboive the flap changeover anyway.
-
Surely if theres no wheelspin then it would be better to hold all gears till redline as there wil be more torque to the wheels than if you changed up a gear.

Could it be anything to do with the brake bias valve? The car was jacked up at the back at the time so id imagine it would restrict the flow? Though fluid was coming out the rear calipers so I doubt this would affect it. :?

The hispec ones look very good behind the wheels. http://www.f-inbigbrakes.co.uk/index.htm

288 front calipers from late mk3 golf. Pagid fast road pads seem to be well liked but theres a lot of different recommendations on disks. Youll also need different hoses if you go for the mk3 calipers.
-
The ignition was on though it didnt seem to make any difference to the pump, it doesnt kick in till the engines running. Maybe worth bleeding them with the engine on? They were also bled in the following order: Master cylinder abs pump front right front left back left back right
-
My brakes have been bled twice now since having mk4 calipers and new hoses/pipes fitted on tuesday. Problem is, the pedals still a bit spongey and it sounds like there is air being pushed through the pipes near the bias valve when the pedal is pressed. Whats the proper way to bleed the brakes on a C? The master cylinder has also been bled, as well as the 2 valves on top of the abs, though no air came out of them.

Expensive, but the best. http://www.powerengineering.co.uk/mikalor/

If you follow the large black plastic pipe back from where the airfilter is its the first alloy section you get to, before the inlet manifold. ps, disks going in the post first thing.
