165mph in a vr6 would be right on the 7000rpm rev limit that the vortech kit provides. The speedo only goes to 160 though so I assume it was just past that Chris VR6nos? Also remember that most speedos overread slightly ao it was probably nearer to 150-155mph. Out of interest, did you notice what the rev counter said or were you too busy watching the road. ps, ive seen 145 on my speedo (private road of course) and it still had a bit left, there was a roundabout coming up fast though so had to slow down.

Metal clips? aint got that on mine i dont think.... Yeah, 3 on each tweeter, I reckon u must have them or ure tweeters wouldnt be secure. piece o p***, if not a bit tight at times. I hope for your sake that the VR dash's either have more room behind the tweeters or an exactly same amount, cause any less, and id be interested to find where you are putting your crossovers. When you first put them in, they are a complete B******! But dont give up! you'll findout what i mean... Theres two sets of cables going to the tweeters. Play some music and unplug one of them. If all the sound stops, then thats your incoming, if your door woofer stops, then thats your link to the door speaker. mark which one is which then connect the incoming to the first two terminals on your crossover, the tweeter cable to the next two and the link to the last two. Cut the plug off the door cable but you'll have to take a trip to halfords to get some insulated crimps to connect the speakers up! (well mine didnt come with any :() Jus remember to cut the plugs off tight to the plug itself cause their aint alot of play on them cables. You may find yourself actually taking away some of the tape holding the loom together to make it that bit easier on yourself. Good luck.[/quote:df63a] One step ahead  , I just bought new wiring and a new plug for the back of the stereo and will not be using any of the existing speaker wiring.

Dont worry about the pic, I used the old tweeter as a template on 6mm mdf and cut it out. I then used the new tweeter as a template as well and cut a smaller hole inside that. The metal clips that held the old tweeter on went onto the adapter plate with a bit of persuasion. Just got to take the dash apart and do the wiring now. :?

Mine has made the creak you describe since I got the car, its more noticable on the outside. I asked at Bedrock about it and he said its nothing to worry about. I now also seem ti have a squeek that is heard from inside the car.

I get this as well, will need to give the grease a go.
-
I think they did eventually. Im pretty sure the newer 24v vr6's have something similar.
-
I recognise that car, I believe the owner takes good care of his cars. I havent seen this one up close but John also has a yellow g60 that is very nice. 8) I think Roddy will know more about it than me.

Could it be the auxiliary water pump? Doesnt that cost about £120?
-
What, cut the tweeter out of the plastic thing that its part of? Id thought about this but wasnt too sure about it. :?

Ok, I just got a set of Focal 130 v2's and am in the process of fitting. Ive got the woofers in the doors no probs but when I removed the factory tweeters im left with a big hole that im going to need to make an adapter plate for. Whats the best thing to use, ive got some 6mm mdf if thats any good?

Think the highest ive hit was 128  , fitting a new grill with all the slats open seems to have made a good difference to the temps though. 8)

I had a chance of one for £750 but had to knock it back as it was when I had to get my engine mounts done.
-
One here for Amit (Rado16v) organised a group buy on speakers and they arrived with me this morning. :D Well happy.

Could one of the mods un sticky this please, my speakers arrived this morning. 8) :D

The pipe from the carbon canister comes out of just under the throttle body somewhere, it goes to the left of the engine bay and has a sort of disk shaped valve that I think was attached to the suspension turret. The hose then dissapeers under the airbox where it goes into the carbon canister underneath the airbox at the front of the bay. If its this hose then look for the thread vr6 carbon canister location, I think its in the tuning section.
-
I think they also come with a variable intake manifold thing similar to a vsr as standard.
-
Now that was just blatant. Sorry, had to get to 500.........
-
Lies, I was worried I was going to go into the back of you  , brakes are next on my list.
-
Any excuse to put up your post count, I dunno.......
-
Where does the other end of the pipe go? If its the one that goes to the carbon canister you could just block it.
-
Ive thought about this a few times and decided that I would probably kill myself on a bike so my moneys going into the vr.
-
The 5 stud kit is from the tt I think. Anybody know anything about the 2 pot audi calipers that work with the standard vr disks?
-
Yeah, I think this is probably the case, did the early C's with factory leather have the heating? Thats a good idea that I hadnt thought of, its only something like one 13mm bolt to remove the seats I think biggrim, you should maybe ask Darren (8vg60) if he knows anything about it as he recently changed his to black leather. I dont know if he wired up the seats though.
-
You havent missed it yet, im still waiting on the speakers, hoping to get them tommorow or tuesday. As far as I know the heated seats came with the leather but I have read that all the cars have the wiring loom already installed. This may be bs and could be late cars only but is worth a look. The loom I think connects at the following places. 1. Fusebox, ill check what fuse number it is and you could have a look to see if anything is plugged in there. 2. The switches, maybe pop out your blanking plates and see if theres any loose connectors. 3. The seats, ill have a look and see if I can see where they dissapeer into the floor. 4. There is a click from behind the rear panel at the passenger side so im assuming there is some sort of control unit/relays there. This panel wont be removed from my C for a while so I dunno exactly whats there. Ill let you know what I find and when im going to be fitting the speakers so if you want to take a look for yourself then your welcome too.

Probably just down to the lack of antifreeze as it also raises the boiling point of the water. Try draining some and put antifreeze in and see how it runs.
