And heres a pic of what I think the leak is coming from, it seems to be on the underneath edge of the thing ive circled as when i press my hand under it the noise changes a bit.
-
Heres a pic of the pipe I capped off, just a bolt with a 6mm alln key head was used. The clear pipe is a fuel tank vent so was left venting into the wing
-
A pic of the damage :( , will get it fixed soon when im getting my stonechips done. Its not really noticable so is ok for now.

Heres a pic of where its clipped in rams
-
On my old 16v it was left dangling, but on the vr it is clipped into a small hole just to the left of the towing eye cover thing.
-
Anyone moved this up to the airbox area to moniter intake air temps with the mfa instead of external temp?
-
Nah, thats a seperate blue sensor that can be reached in the hole that the carbon can came out of. It clips ito the front bumper. The connector andi shows was connected to the valve thing that you can see joined to the pipes.
-
Cheers Andi, the pics helped as I would probably have left that valve thing on and capped the pipe at the end. I notice youve cut the pipe right back (first pic) and also cut an capped the smaller pipe, any advantage to cutting it this far back? I capped the pipe at one of the joins so I could reverse the process if I take the notion.

Ive noticed that my idle seems to be getting gradually more lumpy as the weeks go on. Yesterday I removed my carbon canister and could hear what sounds like a vacuum leak from the alien looking plastic thing to the right of the throttle body, above the exaust manifold. (Will take pics tommorow.) Anybody know what this thing is and if its common to get a vacuum leak there?

 -
Yeah, the roads were cool, had the back end going a few times. I think that was part of the reason I ended up not bothered about going on the track. biggrim, I thought u were going to take it easy on the way back, u werent really accelerating out the corners much but my tyres were still squeeling a lot. 8)
-
Dont think it was you then, it was a dark coloured one that had the fuel filler rerouted to where the rear vw badge would be.
-
Were u driving a mk1 golf as me and biggrim drove past a very nice one on the way down from Glasgow?
-
By looking at the position of the wiper motor and the brake fluid reservoir I would say that its definately a right hand drive.
-
What kind of paper did you print it onto?
-
Are the plugs the same as the ones on Golfs or anything, I was hoping to just splice the wires in to make it easily reversable. Looks like a trip to the scrappies may be in order.
-
Do you still have any John, wouldnt mind one myself. Do they upgrade the main beam aswell or just the dipped headlights?

Just look at the dry tarmac rallies where the FWD Citreon Xsara's walked it ahead of all the 4wd beasts a few years ago.

Twas a good day except for my wee bumper incident. The b-roads from the motorway to Muirkirk were a bit mad, was good to see the performance of Graemes G60 compared to my vr6 as well. 8) Pity none of the Corrados went on track, did any after we left? Anyone got any pics of the C's, the battery in my camera died an I never got any. :(

What do u think of hid's? Expensive, yes, illegal, possibly, but worth it? -
No prob, my number is 07787795870. We will probably be at Bothwell at about 10.30 anyway but would be good to get an idea if ure nearby or miles away if we get there first.
-
Does that come with added time delay accelerator?

My second entry here for Darren (8vg60). Got a parcel shelf off him that arrived very quickly after he received my cheque and was well packaged. I would gladly buy off him again if I see anything else I like. 8)

Had one on my 16v, it sounded great I thought but the fit was the worst ive ever seen and the tailpipe itself was very thin steel that discoloured quickly. Havent janspeed gone bust now?
