I drove my Mums Rover 214i till the week before i turned 20 then bought a 216 gti. 4 months later I bought my first C 2.0 16v and its looking like next week I could also own a VR6. Unfortunately it will be locked away till I sell the 16v so if anyone is looking for one then this is a blatant attempt to point out the links in my sig. :D

Its easy to tell if your car has old or new style handles. The new ones have a lip round the lock cylinder. On the old ones the cylinder is practically flush. Unfortunately they all break as easy as each other but im lead to believe a lot of this is down to adjustment of the door hinge as well. If the handle feels very stiff as the door is been pulled into the car too tight they break easy. If the door is a bit further out then the handle will be much free'er and will less likely break. Can look like the door aint shut right though.

Thats it exactly, my version is 6.0.2800.1106 with all the updates I think already done. I noticed the search worked but its a nuisance so I resorted to using an old laptop exclusively for Bentley. Would be nice to have it on the home pc though so any help would be appreciated.

Mine came with a Sony XR-5451. I only know that because the original instructions are still in the service folder.

Ive got one on mine, the noise was annoying and I was going for a long drive one day so I tightened it right up so it didnt do anything. That was about 18 months ago and I never bothered adjusting it again. Ill give it a go again tommorow and let you know if theres any noticeable difference.

My drivers side window does this and I havent got round to fixing it yet. Apparently its a plastic bit that clips to the bottom of the window then attaches to the metal guide thing that comes off the glass and slides to the bottom of the door. Ive been told it can be fixed by putting some silicon on it then pushing it back on to the glass to secure it.

Mine is the same as this on the one touch but I can only operate one window at a time.

I used to get this when my battery was on the way out. Changed the battery and its never happened since.

How much clearance is there between the curved pipe at the backbox and the bottom of the car. When the fitting of mine was slightly off it was fine when cold but when the exaust had heated up it would start touching the bottom of the car and made noises at certain revs.

What is the clip thing on the second ignition lead for? I have one as well but its on the first lead.

Nah, think of all the jap import imprezas an stuff that are all RHD. They drive on the same side of the road as us.

I also had someone else sitting in the car revving it up a bit to stop the engine cutting out.

I used it when I got my car, I disconnected the vacuum line at the back of the intake manifold and sprayed it in from there. I didnt notice much difference but there was definately a lot of crap coming out of the exaust during the process.

My oil normally sits in the 90's once warmed up and only goes above 100 when sitting in traffic, ive never seen it above 108. I dont think you should worry unless your oil sits below 90 after the cars warmed up. My water gauge sits about 70 and only goes up when in traffic, pretty much the same as yours.

To me that sounds perfect for the water gauge. What does your oil temp do?

Ive found that the switch at the bottom of the drivers side pin gets worn out or something. Try pushing the pin down a bit harder or loosen it of slightly then push it down and ill bet it locks both doors.

im running 205/45/16's and have tried 215/40/16's with standard arches and no problems. As long as the offsets (ET35 I think) ok you shouldnt have problems either. Im on standard suspension.

Roddy, dont Star Performance do the same custom re-chips as AMD? Just curious as they are a hell of a lot closer to you.

Its 60k on the 2.0 a6v, id imagine the 1.8 is the same.

Yeh, it would do all sorts of things. Sometimes nothing, sometimes a click, sometimes it would even have the starter going on and off rapidly. I managed to wire up a push start that worked for about a year but then it got so bad that id be driving along and it would switch my stereo on and off as well so I had it replaced.
