Coxys R32 4 Motion Corrado - On the Road!!!!
CoxyLaad replied to CoxyLaad's topic in Members Gallery
yes mate i have that setup in the garage already. I will probablies just use that in all fairness. Least i will be doing my bit for the environment! and I suppose the additional restriction of the cats will be offset by the removal of that ludicrous r32 downpipe. -

hi pete, I think i already have that setup myself, are teh headers some sort of weird stainless steel half tubular affair? that is an option for the front section of my exhaust, plus it will flow a lot better than the rubbish mk4 r32 downpipes. -

what difference does the cats make to the power I would have thought they would be quite restrictive, when you look at them -

I have no cats and as much silencing as space allows under there, which isnt a great deal! 1 center silencer, and a reasonably small back box is all that can be fitted. not to worry about that. can someone point me in the direction of some cheap accoustic foam? -

i know mate i am sorry, i guess i just had really high expectations and expected the car to be perfect first time out. Unrealistic really given the project and the length of time its been off the road. Just ordered a load of sound deadening for it, going to line the interior with it, that should make it a bit more pleasant - screw the excess weight! -
man the noise of that car sends tingles up your spine! the music made me wish i was deaf though. I hate that gangsta shiite.

they are FK konigsport silverlines, konis in disguise, so not rubbish. jay and now vick has them on his 24v corrado and i found that a very nice drive. anyways, i am over the initial disapointment of it not being immediately perfect. I will sort it eventually. I had a nose about today and realised i hadnt refitted about 4 grommits in the bulkhead so no wonder it was feckin noisy! So I hacked my carbon fibre bonnet up this afternoon and fitted a pair of mk4 washers to the underside of the bonnet. I want the nice efficient spray pattern so these were essential, plus it keeps the bonnet nice and clean. Also a positive point - the breaks on the car are absolutely astounding! they arent properly bedded in yet but flippin hell they are awesome! -

cheers for that. hmmmm y'know I am not sure...about the car that is. My original design spec was that of a gt car, something blindingly quick yet retaining comfort for gentle relaxed cruising and commuting and stuff. Well its blindingly quick, but its ridiculously loud, both from the exhuast and the air filter. I know i have a grommet in the bulkhead missing and that will cause a lot of noise, and there is a small hole at the back of the car that might be passing some exhaust noise in, so i reckon i could go a long way to sorting that out (standard airbox is going to have to go on i think...) but the ride quality at the moment compared to a modern car is just not on, i would even say piss poor. its crashy and noisy and clunky and generally not that nice. I am so tempted to chuck it all in and get something more modern and not have to worry about all this. need to persevere though and get it running as it should then decide whether its the car i want for every day. It will be a great car as a weekend blast car, but at the moment, not sure as an every day car. and if its not an everyday car, then its competing with my bike, and its gunna lose! will keep you updated... -

Well at long last the car is now insured (750 quid fully comp) and almost MOT'd nearly went through first time. all mechanicals were fine, but it failed on emmissions. the hydrocarbon test limit was 200, and mine was reading 8300 lol :cuckoo: thats like neat fuel in the exhaust i think! I think i may have the front lambdas crossed over. can anyone with a 24v install tell me what colour lambda probe goes where. As you are facing the front of the car, i have the black probe in the left bank and the brown probe in the right bank. I need to know if this is correct. I am getting lambda reversed errors, but I am also getting a couple of other fuel errors at the moment too, so i dont know whether its a red herring or not. all in all I am very pleased at how happy how the car had done considering the in bits state its been in over the last few years. Anyways even when its through its mot i think i still have a lot of work to do, as its ridiculously feckin loud. I am going to fit a stanadard airbx i think, cos the noise is doing my head in after driving 5 miles to the test station and back. Need to sort out the ride height of the car, as its sunk a lot, and also the rear camber adjustment fittings that have made need fitting. its no where near 'daily driver' standard yet, but i will persevere. Its got 6 months before its going the journey and I buy a audi estate lol so if anyone can help me with the front lambda information that would be great cheers. -
point to note, vr turbo engines do not sound like NA VR6's especially if you use a short runner. thats not to say they don't sound good though!
-
my cousin has the avant 180bhp version (that i am considering buying) and its been chipped, quite quick
-
nice motor mate, I am considering one of those in avant form myself. how much did that set you back if you dont mind me asking?
-
i thought kadvr6 just advertised one?
-
interesting... I would have thought the accelerator pedal setup would be pretty universal, I mean there would be no benefit in changing it around at all. I thought i had knackered my pedal at the weekend as i cut and welded the actual pedal bit, and it threw up a load of errors when i refitted it, but it turns out by some weird coincidence the plug into the haldex controller on the rear diff decided to play up. this doesnt help you at all though, so sorry! keep at it dude
-
you could idle your way to edition 38 :) i bet it does about 16mph in top idling lol yes my mk4 r32 setup throws no errors with the pedal disconnected. More investigation required!
-
well just for some further info, if you disconnect the pedal is does not throw up any errors for vagcom to pick up. I did it to mine today and nothing came back. car started and idled with no pedal. have you tried a mk4 pedal?
-
I will second that. I had a mk2 20v turbo on DTA and although it was good, to live with day to day highlighted how good the factory ecus are. its just small things, but every day they start to piss you off. Just my experience of course!

i used the mk4 engine mounts, and the exhaust glides straight down the middle on my car ;) -
haha I am feeling for you mate. I think 'corrado in bits' is a syndrome, I have just about recovered from it (with therapy etc)
