    1.8T vs VR6

surely you cant say that just adding another 2 cylinders onto a 4 cyinder block will give X horsepower? What about the design aspect and all the other extra frictional losses blah blah blah Just thought I would stick me oar in there  p.s. can we have some new smileys? these ones are crap
  3. Biggerbiggerbigbaddude, What up with your wheels mate? I think they are a touch of class 8) I see a wheel buying chain starting here lol Any first time buyers about ?
  4. And that is the key to driving any 4wd car! I dont think many people know this, you lift off, and the car is effectively a front wheel drive car again! Bah!
  5. I dont think you will get a scoob engine to mount to a corrado gearbox. Its a boxer engine and the the pistons stick out the side....

    1.8T vs VR6

Yeah cheating possibly isnt the right word. I think its gaining power through auxilliary means (add ons to a NA engine) or am I talking bollocks

    1.8T vs VR6

so why you driving a vr then :-)
  8. Sorry to bring back an old part of the thread but that sounds like an earth fault to me and nothing to do with the actual oil temp.
  9. hmm now that could be a valid point there....
  10. Cheers Kev, Heres a question for you then - How necessary do you think ABS is? It crossed my mine to just rip it out completely.......Do you think its any good? I have yet to use the ABS on all the cars that I have had with it fitted (unless I am being a dick in the ice and trying to make it come on) So ABS - worth it or not?
  11. Hi, Does anyone one know what abs pumps are a match for the corrado abs system? I need to refit the standard ABS system to my car as I have had a slight change of plan with the control of the 4wd, only I havent got the abs pump any more. I have the brain that goes int the passenger footwell but no pump. Does the pump off the passat fit it? I am talking in terms of there are about 10 passats at my local scrap yard and no corrados  Any info greatly appreciated Mr C

    4WD

do a search - theres loads been posted on this subject lately :?
  14. hehe :D Its alright man, its stopped raining now! (like) 8)
  15. I'd smack the bitch for sitting on me bonnet 8)
  16. Sorry Jay that was nasty of me. I am stil a fully paid up member of club 24v :-) Any luck yet?
  17. Will do :D althoough I will be running the car without the charger initially, it should still be fairly potent Hehe dont get me started on the colour - I thought I was going to have to change it cos I just wasnt sure, but although its still gunna need a resprair I am keeping the yellow. To quote the previous owner: 'Keep it yellow man, everyone sees you coming and on the motorways its like the parting of the red seas' That did it for me :D
  18. Due to the recent weather change I am abandoning the corrado - I am going to build an Ark! 8)
  19. The 4 motion stuff is too wide to fit under the corrado
  20. willdo mate. Its back down on its wheels now !!!! Get up sausage!! 8)
  21. the very same - oh yes you are Horrock's mate arent you? Do you go to the Harrogate meet then? I never get that far down - I might do once the car is completed though. Andy Outhwaite is a right clever get - stick a cup of coffee in one hand, a pair of snips in teh other, and lay the loom out in front of him and stand back 8)
  22. No not at all - I am using the v6 4motion gearbox which means I wouldnt be able to use the standard mounting positions. I have the mk4 engine mounts grafted onto the chassis legs and a custome stabiliser bar undernieth. By top cover do you mean the big black plastic cover? if so then I dont have it :-( its pretty close but I reckon it would all fit. The intake pipe is flexible and the air filter will go in front of the expansion tank. Plus there is going to be no room on the other side of the engine when the supercharger gets installed... 8) I have a mate who is an electrical genius who will be helping my out considerably here 8) Thanks! I hope its all worth it....I think 300bhp with 4wd and a real engine noise should be!
  23. good stuff :-) Are you going to go for permenant 4wd then? or are you attempting to provide some sort of partial syncro type system? I am going to let the factory ecu control the 4wd, but I want some sort of override where I can have a permanent split between the front and back wheels, like a dial on the dash board or something. I will cross that bridge when I get there though 8) What do you guys think of the yellow colour scheme? I wasnt sure to start off with and I planned to get it resprayed a more understated colour, but since building it back up I am starting the think the bright yellow will look really nice - especially with my new wheels that I have to go on - which I will post a picture off when i get them off my laptop.
