What's the best size of stretched tyre for 8x15 wheels...?
CoxyLaad replied to biggerbigben's topic in General Car Chat
It just worries my that its not how the tyres were designed to work I bought a mk2 with tyres like this and I hated the way it handled not for me I am afraid. I wonder what the insurance company would say if they say a tyre stretched over over a massive rim in the event of a claim. -
so what size motor is in it then?

Dont do it!!!! I think it looks ridiculous!!!!! just my opinion of course, but those tyres were certainly not designed to be stretched like that. Look bloody dangerous to me -
I think that scooby looks pretty good! Does that make me a Chav then? lol
-
unlucky mate, hmmm I may have the mastercylinder parts to help you out there banana dude. I will have a look tonight and get back to you.

got any pics marra? how well does the ATB handle 332lbs of torque? can it cope?
-
what sort of power are you putting out on your 1.8T ruffy ? whats the spec of it? and are you running aftermarket engine management? Sounds like a bit of a beast!
-
Dude - now how good do they look!!! Makes the car look very muscular and tough
-
aye I know what you mean, I am not a lover of black either, thats why I said 'darker' A dark grey would be nice, just something a little understated.
-
Mr Banana man, I like what you have done with you car it looks nice mate. Can I make a suggestion though (and I am not calling your car shyte or anything - us yellow owners need solidarity :) ) i think the car would look a lot better with slightly darker wheels on it, I think yellow cars need slightly darker wheels that the usual silver. I duno why it is, I think yellow motors are loud enough not to need bright shiny alloys, of course this is just my opinion. What do you think? :D I will post a pic of mine with my darker wheels on......when Phat gets round to sorting me some spacers out

ah right cheers. I am debating whether to ditch the ABS altogether on my car. I have had many cars with abs and it seems to me that its a device for idiots who struggle to control their cars, as I have yet to require it (apart from on ice but then its useless anyway) and I can drive quite hard at times. any thoughts?
-
Did the G60 come with ABS as standard?
-
i've seen them hahahahahaha
-
Do RH offer different adaptors to change the offset then? I would have thought they would have made the wheels for a specific application instead of one size and adapters?

My freshly flared out arches (56k beware, 10 pics)

the fit on those things is shocking for the money you pay isnt it? -
you sure about the golf and corrado boxes? I though the golf got a slightl longer final drive than the corrado, I have own both and I definately thought the golf had much longer gears
-
how much did you pay for those then?
-
you might have a mk3 golf vr gearbox which has longer ratios than the corrado vr box ? just a possiblity
-
LOL @ your mug shot :D I like it! It should be compulsory to have a passport photo of yourself on there for everyone to see! but yeah 7500 for a car with 17k miles on it....probablies the most underused corrado in the country?
-
Phat you are a bad man
-
you havent had much luck with your motor henny mate. :( Stick at it, it will eventually become bug free
-
haway then Henny lad, get your noises on here then! I have a clip of your motor but its on tickover so not really 'flexing its muscles' as it were.... :)
-
ho ho ho I need to get this god damn car back on the roads! I miss that noise soo much  The G60 sounds like a wasp in comparison to the VR's err warbly noise
-
I am interested but I am going to need rallye rears and VR fronts. I thought you can get the full kit including springs for 400 quid.
