Have you used the Haldex diff Ben?
-
certainly am - I was considering attempting to build my own custom double wishbone rear axle but for the time being I have decided against it, I will see how it goes with the syncro rear axle before I do something crazy like that. I will be starting on the rear axle this week actually, pics to follow.

Just thought I would put some pics up of the progress that is being made with the old wasp p.s. cutting power steering lines to make them shorter is NOT advised
-
bollocks its getting late - I could have swore it said 911 turbo.... I thought that must be mega cheap for the 911 turbo - I was just thinking christ it must have been a complete nail
-
Steve - I dont think you should be allowed in a rear engined, rear wheel drive car
-
do a search - theres a fair bit of info on this

The Z engineering charger and the Vortech chargers are totally different beasts are they not?
-
yes I am - I have been down the route of aftermarket engine management (on my old 20v Turbo mk2) and to be totally honest I found it all a bit crude. Great on full throttle but the cold starting and general manners of the car were attrocious! No offense to anyone running aftermarket ECUs but VW spend so many millions on developing there engine management systems I think it would be foolish to think we can get the same results from a £1000 aftermarket ecu.

Cool - yes its one of the early ones with the oil tap and feed and the straight cut gears. You certainly know that its installed as it has a canny whine to it :D I am reckoning getting the car on the road by October/November and maybe supercharged after christmas.

Mint! thats what I like to hear! I never knew how the G Lader worked - ta for that. I have visually checked the charger out and there was no lateral play in the bearings as all. I think I will just fit it and see how it goes :-) cant wait :D

What is the service interval for a Vortech V1 super charger? The one I have has about 40k miles on it. Do they actually have service intervals at all? I cant find any information on them. Has any one heard of one detonating G Lader style ? Thanks I am deciding whether or not I need to get the charger rebuilt before I stick it on my shiny new 24v v6 motor :?

Unfortunately Phat has now had his net access removed - he will be about on the evenings I would imagine Poor Phat. -
as long as you knock them all the way in they should be square as they butt up to a shoulder on the hub if I remember correctly

whats a drimmel? Isnt that a leg waxing product  so our lass says [ahem]
-
depends how mechanically adept you are, or how much money you have to through at the car. but yes if you were thinking of doing it then that sounds about right. Bare in mind the syncro rear viscous coupling is not as good as the rallye one.

HAHA you have got to be jesting! It would be like driving around in a corrado country! I *heard* a rumour of eccentric bushes that can be used on teh wishbones to raise the inside and thus cancel out some of that camber. My car wont be that low so I was hoping it wouldnt suffer but by the looks of it its gunna run into the same problems you are having. Cheers Mate -
err, you have to do a lot more than that Not for the faint hearted. The rear boot floor needs to be replaced for the syncro item You will more than likely have to make an exhaust up from scratch Syncro fuel tank needed syncro back axle (obviously) etc etc A bit more than a weekends work

looks like someone was going to do it before me :(

How much can you lower your car before the rear camber becomes stupid? I am going to have the same problem shortly when mine gets on the road. -
