  1. I think thats definately the answer!
  2. I dont think you can use dump valves on 1.8T engines running the standard management. The system uses a recirculation valve normally, and apparently fitting a dump causes the ecu to get its knickers in a twist
  3. I'm bloody pleased mine isnt a daily driver cos its been off the road for a year! I have a bora tdi 130 (which gets on my t*ts at times) as a daily driver oh and I have a nice big Yamaha motobike mow down rabbits and pheasants with.
  4. yes you are right - thats what I just said 2 posts ago!!!! hence the reason I brought it up cos biggerbigben is getting a rallye 6speed box, which would mean he wont be able to run a haldex at all.
  5. haway lads what about mine??? surely you lads can appreciate a git big pile of bits stashed in a garage somewhere for what it is lol  I think its got to be BuggerBigBen's 4wd 1.8T cos I like the clasic brit styling, 17" flat faced wheels (no dish), a nice ride height, and obviously plenty of grunt (his exhaust pipe is big enough to have skateboarders doing stunts in it though) Tied with Jays porsche derived number, very nice car and some very nices touches to it. I like the way its still a corrado but modernised version with climate control etc. and I like his plans for it too
  6. lol how much of a p1sser would that be - you spend 2 and a half years rebuilding your car and the third week its on the roads it gets blown to bits by a terrorist lol
  7. sounds like a type of dog biscuit
  8. Ben as far as I know a 6speed box that will work for the rallye viscous coupling will not work for the haldex due to the difference in ratios of the transfer boxes. I may be wrong but I dont think I am.
  9. the trigger wires will get a 12v on them to fire the coils, the trigger wires should come from the ECU yes? I know we have already had this conversation on msn tonight, just thought I would reply on here too :)
  10. LOL you can see where I made a mistake, they are identical! Nice motor mate, I nearly bought that you know?
  11. wow now that is impressive! and genuinely original
  12. Kev is that your old motor there? I recognise the Inlet manifold. I didnt know you sold it back to Stealth
  13. you missed the fuel tank out of your list. You could use a V6 4motion gearbox, but then you open up a whole new world of sh1t to contend with. just buy a quaife diff for yours they are nearly as good :)
  14. How come everyone wants a 4wd corrado now? When I first had decided on the concept I thought it would be pretty damned exclusive, by the time I get mine complete there will be more 4wd corrados than 2wd!!!! :?
  15. hey thems not bad! Better than the ones you had on. LOL @ air suspension :D hee hee
  16. but did anyone see that minter of a mk1 gti parked outside the lasses house on Carry and Barry last night? It looked mint!
  17. Please tell me that car doesnt actually contain a disco ball......
  18. you have to live with one for a few months to learn what they are like, people get in my bora and say "oh its quite quick isnt it?" In reality I dont think it is that quick, what makes people think its quick is that it goes from having about 12ftlb of torque to having 2000 ftlb of torque in about 100rpm which gives a massive shove in the back... Those quoted figures are a rough estimation by the way
  19. I have the same 6speed 130bhp tdi, and i wouldnt let it anywhere near my corrado.
  20. I wouldnt do it, I have a bora tdi130 as a daily driver and although its reasonably quick, the characteristics of the engine do not lend itself to any form of performance car. It depends if you like driving, or just want to go fast....
  21. that exhaust actually suits the car - looks pretty cool I wouldnt dare do owt like that that though...
  22. Aye you're a right spawny get arent you?
  23. oh is that the same motor as the 944s2 then? oh thats got 220 bhp hasnt it, cant be the same oops
