  5. kev / alex I take it the 9a would be a suitable engine for turboing? Other than a Turbo Tech kit, is it possible to source the parts separately? what is required with regard to management, engine internals and throttle bodies - do they all need to come of Vdubs, I have seen some ford parts on the bay can you mix and match? Kev - take it Vince is the man for 16vT conversions (back in the day)?
  6. kevHaywire, i spotted her too! very nice, could learn to smile tho!

    Tom Tom Go

slightly O/T but I have got TT5 on my XDA 2s, its the bees knees! you been on http://www.pocketgpsworld.com? you can download all speed cameras locations and add them as POI to TomTom. You will then receive a warning when you approach a Gatso or Red light camera. Totally free speed camera detector! :D

  12. oh and BF goodrich tyres are the coolest thing ever!
  13. gentleman, please refer to the evo car of the year (ecoty) in this months magazine. The real world test includes 350z, M3 CS (not the full blown CSL), Corvette and a Roush Mustang (the standard would have been monstered in the company of the test), impreza wrx, forester sti and a clio 182 (there are more but can't remember) basically the Corvette struggled with the roads around scotland, ie fast and curvy. It was insanely fast, however it couldn't handle the nuances (great word) of the Brit A/B roads therefore was much slower than lower HP rivals. Something which the Clio 182 proved by winning the test. The Corvette was launched as a rival for a 911  I have nothing against American cars, I would love a Corvette Stingray and I am sure they have come on leaps and bounds. But they are useless compared to a 4wd, trick diffed motor or even a well sorted RWD like a 350z. Only thing they can do it drive up alley ways and knock over cardboard boxes ;)
  14. boss in work reversed across my bumper - you can hardly notice it when its dirty (90%) but it is a fair old scrape with the bumper slightly deformed. Insurance job, new bumper, brackets and respray all in about 800 quids worth of work. Only because she wasn't concentrating! Just got to put up with a Fiesta for two days, nearly fell out of the seat going round a bend this morning. NO lateral support whatsoever!
  15. Any bits reusable from a 9A valver if you were to do this conversion? or would you need rad, cooler etc etc? next year is going to be new car or new engine...
  16. ben, totally finished my dash last night - i fecking love it! worth the hassle IMHO. I'll get some pics up in my members gallery when I get my car back from the body shop
  17. will keep an eye out for the mag that 3.6 is alright I suppose, but you sure you wouldnt fancy a 9A?
  18. you removing the interior? is it leather? shame about another C going to waste, atleast you can look back with good memories!
  19. can't belive no one mentioned this... how can a 140 bhp car STILL be insurance group 17? other than that I love it!

    Gauges

I am attacking the centre console with my Dremel tonight...so I'll try and get some pics whilst I am at it. Dremel cut through the plastic very easily, but I think I would try and mount the gauges where the ashtray is intially and shape the Audi gauge holder with the dremel - then you can decide whether the stereo is better off fitted lower or not. Im with Chris, the gauges are little use down by the gearstick, I can just glance at mine (still novelty value ) whilst driving rather than totally looking away from the road! I've just sent Ben a big PM about this so if I get chance I will try and write a how to with part #s etc
  21. i didnt get a third page! just got two graphs! :(
