With reference to the 16v.. sums up perfectly about different people wanting different things in a car. It could be 2k and I still wouldn't have viewed it, yet someone else was potential interested at 5. The simple answer is the cars will benefit! Two examples - Jim's recent shall I/shan't I paint thread. Discussions on paying £2-3k to paint a car worth 2-3k become a lot less relevant if the car painted is worth 6-7! I bought a mk2 last year thats a bit rough around the edges for a grand. with the market getting silly I can spend the same again on sorting out bits and bobs and then it'll be worth 3ish! By having a bigger selling price, more people will put the efforts into restoring rather than breaking cars. At some point, most of us will sell up. If we can do it at a higher price that can only be a good thing!

This was the point i was making on the thread about the guy trying to resell that VR for 9k.. It can't be a bad thing for people to start speculating on higher Corrado prices and they are at at age where they're becoming a modern classic rather than a cheap daily coupe. Look how many people rejoin the forum, now at an older age and with a few grand spare for a weekend car. Of course, what people are looking for within a car will vary, some will be after that minter Storm that they couldn't quite afford before, others will be looking for a tastefully modified toy.. and with less about, prices can only go one way. :fingerscrossed:

Wow, how utterly shameful for the show to have you as a member/ambassador. Despite your disclaimer, by referencing yourself to the show you will inevitably give the impression that you are representing it. A simple 'rules are rules' explanation would have been sufficient to explain why the car was not allowed - I even did that myself quoting the websites 'pre 1990' rule. Instead, you have chosen to come on here to make cheap shot judgments about a forum member based on their grammatical ability?! This also adds absolutely nothing to any valid points that may exist and does nothing to enhance the show. What were you expecting to gain from your ramblings? You are a true embarrassment and I hope the show finds out the damage you are doing to their profile.

Over the past couple of years theres been a couple of people who've said they have spare seat leathers knocking about for Recaros, although i cant remember who! Ive got a set of grey recaros im looking at retrimming, but thought i'd do a check to see if anyone has covers already in decent knick. If you do, let me know! Cheers Baz

:lol: to be honest, I wouldn't have paid 2.5k for it so haven't missed out in the slightest. If someone else wants to put a Dragon Green, Cloth interior Corrado up for 9k, raising the highest asking price for a tidy standard car good luck to them.

Well based on the websites description of pre 1990 a 1992 car wouldn't qualify, however if they're letting in other newer cars I guess you have to put it down to experience and not bother going back next year! It's a shame really as it looks like funds go to local charities, but up to them i guess :shrug: I would personally consider the Corrado a modern classic. It's certainly not a run of the mill daily anymore but don't think it has the right to 'classic car' status yet. I'd just about squeeze mk1 golfs & sciroccos into that category now as the first of the watercooled VWs. I'd also argue that even a late 2000 mini could still be classed as a classic as styling remained pretty much unchanged throughout the years. Who knows, feck em. :lol:

its personal preference, but i think anthracite is too dark for blackberry. A nice bright silver does everything it needs to IMO.

yep, custom subframes and tombstones will go in.. then you've gotta retrim the rest of the interior to match..
