  1. The year isn't important as far as bonnets are concerned ... it was introduced to accommodate the larger VR lump, not a 'year' thing, so anything with a later bonnet, that's not a VR, has been given a later bonnet at some point. Erm, that's not true  :dorky: ALL late Corrados came with the bulge bonnet from factory regardless of what engine they had.
  2. Then you were lucky, and whether they last as long as the originals remains to be seen :) hopefully they will! Unfortunately in my experience it isn't black and white though, it would be much easier if it was, but in the end for me it's just not worth risking using GSF parts as sometimes they're fine and sometimes they're not, especially sensors :mad2: The amount of times i've ended up fitting loads of parts to try and find the cause of a problem, only to find that the first part I changed should have fixed the problem but it didn't because it was a GSF duff! You end up wasting loads of time/effort/money just by trying to save a few quid in the first place :mad2:

    help water temp

No it shouldn't, I was just making it clear to anyone who might this thread in the future, that the light is an indicator of over heating, because you'd said that it wasn't :)
  4. I have to admit, I thought the same thing :ignore:
  5. Yep, I gave up using GSF parts a long time ago!
  6. If you've got your original owners handbook there should be a sticker on the inside of the front page with the code on it, odd that the stickers gone from the boot though! :camp:

    help water temp

The light will flash if the temp gets too high, and/or if the level drops too low.
  8. Sounds like they may be something causing excess pressure in the system, either that or its a big co-incidence that these problems have all appeared at the same time! I would always rather sort whatever is causing it to run hot out, rather than using a low temp fan switch to mask the problem.
  9. Full respect (but not in the E38 way) for doing all the work yourself mate, especially the paint! Has it come out well?
  10. Either way i'm glad to hear you're not selling it, it seemed like a crazy thing to do all things considered 8)
  11. I dont really see how you could get a better Corrado than this tbh!

    2.0l 8v Engine

Yes :) Corrados came with either the 2E or the ADY, both were used in Golfs and Passats as far as I know. For finding parts you'll need to find your engine code, you'll find that a lot of parts companies dont have details of the Corrado 8v on their systems.
  13. I've seen 1 or 2 over the years, obviously fitted by the owners though, I can only imagine the person who had your car before you for a year added it? It'd be nice to have some details of your ownership though, like how many miles you've done and what's been replaced etc etc, there aren't many people on here who've had their cars from such an early age!
  14. I quite often wonder about that myself tbh
  15. Might be worth trying to contact him on E38 mate.
  16. Well, it looks like one to me anyway
  17. You might want to use small self tapping screws rather than glue :)

    happy new year

Aqua blue pearl does the same, it could be that tbh, like I said its hard to tell with colours like that from pics due to the fleck in the paint, although the fact that the paint code stickers been removed is a bit odd, if you've got the original owners handbook it will be on the inside of the front cover in there too.

    happy new year

Actually, looking at it again it could be 'bright blue metallic' which was a MK2 golf colour but never came on Corrados, which is a shame as its an awesome colour! What ever it is, it looks lovely :)

    happy new year

It doesn't look like any of the Corrado blues in those pics, more like a subaru colour or something?. Aqua Blue Pearl is a nightmare to tell in pics as it can look so different but it looks closest to that out of all of them. You should have a sticker on the inside of the rear panel (in the boot) that will give you a paint code (should look like LC5U or similar)
