Sweet 8) it does look a lot like here tbh, and with roads that the rado was made for! Its cool to see pics of it out there!
-
I wouldn't use it on any engine tbh! A common place for water leakage on the 8v's is the flange where the hose meets the main block (on the right hand side of the engine as you look at it) so its worth checking there, also just look around the bay at all the hoses to see if any hoses are leaking or clips need tightening etc?

It has to be said, I dont think i've ever seen a set of wheels on a Corrado that look quite as bad as those

_leon_'s Corrado - R32/Gemini box now in progress
Walesy replied to _leon_'s topic in Members Gallery
I think you'll need to PM Andi about that one mate (Or try and make some sense out of this thread - viewtopic.php?f=45&t=73944 ) Looks like this is going to be one awesome Corrado! -
Ive lost count of how many Corrados ive had and NONE of them have sat dead on 90deg like every other VW i've had does, i'm not sure why they don't and its really annoying as it makes you have to keep much more of an eye on the temp. In answer to the original post, i'd go with the rad, it could just be clogged up a bit. When your cars been running at a certain temp for X amount of years and miles there's definitely something up if it suddenly changes, and I always want to work out what that is and get it sorted!

Has anyone else led underneath their car while running?

Yeah, when you 'led' under the car? :cuckoo: -

 Stunning car :salute:

is was only walesy saying most of the comments were fair :cuckoo: Yep, and most of them are  As someone else said, each to their own - the point I was trying to make is that arguing over which car brand is 'betterer' is pretty childish tbh, whether you're a 'VAG nut' or not

How do you know wtf i've driven?  I've been in many different things with many different hamounts of valves. And a 2.0 8v mk3 was the worst. Oh and just opinions based on fact and personal experience. Ok Jonny, owned and/or driven loads of 8v Corrados have you? Come on dude, when I say 'personal experience' I mean that i've owned more than one of each of the two flavour Corrados we're comparing, over a number of years, so can form a full opinion having had to own, run and maintain both. Not that i've been a passenger in a mates car that isn't a Corrado but has the same engine  We're not talking about 0-60mph times or torque figures here, 'bang for bucks' is what I said :dorky: As I said to you before, any Corrado is a great car and a step up from a 1.6Mk2 Ryder, i'm not dissing your valver :notworthy: :camp:

All Vr6's are classed as 'late spec' really, as the changes were brought on by the need for more space in the engine bay when the VR6 was introduced in 1992. There are a few 'crossover' VR6's which came with the early interior (different dash/switches etc) but they're fairly rare :) Enjoy the hunt!
-
Then I can only re-iterate what i've just said, if the low mileage mint 8v is as good as it sounds then snap it up quick! :) Finding decent Corrados with clean/straight/honest bodywork and tidy interiors is becoming more and more difficult. Take a look at the buying guide here - http://wiki.the-corrado.net/the_corrado ... klist.html

Jonny, you've never driven or owned an 8v rado  16vs are also bloody dire too if you're talking about performance, but when you consider bang for bucks the 8v is leagues ahead, opinions based on fact and personal experience! The OP has already said he's happy with the performance of his Mk3 8v, so as Ben says i'm pretty certain he'd be happy with the same engine in a MUCH better car. The 16v will cost a fair bit more to run, will cost a fair bit more to fix when it goes wrong, and will not give a fair bit more performance. If you're in the least bit interested in going quick, and want a 'performance' car, buy either a G60 or a VR6. If you just want a nice looking car that will handle well, then go for the best condition Corrado you can find regardless of what engine it has, if it's a toss up between the 16v and the 8v I'd recommend the 8v every single time.

 yeah alright Granted, there's a few stupid comments, but every forum has a few ill educated bell ends spouting crap about things they know nothing about at any given opportunity  but on the whole the posts seem fairly balanced. Not all VAG cars are the bees knees you know, and the point they're making is that just because a car has a VAG badge on it doesn't mean its better than anything else available, and I agree with that :)
-
I don't think they come across that bad tbh, the 'VAG NUT' sounds like the ass hole if anything
-
Go for it, IMO the 8v is much better than the 16v overall :)

There are always bargains around to be had, but they're in the minority. As a general rule i'd say to stay away from cheap VR6's as they really can be money pits.
