Yeah it has a factory alarm, it's an Audi don't you know :camp:
-
I've got it started up and driven it half a mile but it's got next to no fuel at all in it! - this caused a catch 22 situation as I couldn't get the fuel flap open to put fuel in so I could drive it and get some life in the battery :censored:  The thing is, is that i'd expect the C/L not to work due to lack of battery, but the lock should work individually from the key in the door which they dont  - this leads me to believe that it isn't to do with the battery?
-
It's not toooooo bad, hopefully it won't need any more than a good going over with some decent treatment stuff - i'll have a look for 'Glipton' , have you used it yourself? The cracks are fairly small, just from being sat in direct sunlight for too long I assume. If all else fails i'll go for one of these :camp:

Right, I've managed to get the fuel flap open, so just the locking problem to sort out now!

Arse, feck, bugger. I've had my 96 A4 Avant off the road for ages but want to get it back in action. I went to unlock it and nothing happened when I turned the key in the drivers door, as in nothing at all not even the drivers door unlocked! Fortunately I could unlock the boot and managed to climb into the car and open it from the inside. I'm a bit stumped by this as I would have thought if it was a battery or C/L pump problem then at least the door that i'm trying to open would work but this isn't the case! - can anyone suggest what may be the problem here? Also, as the car is low on fuel I want to put some in but can't access the fuel filler as the flap is locked! I've pulled off the O/S boot trim and cant seem to find a lever to manually open the flap, and I haven't been able to find anything in the owners manual about how to open the flap in the event of C/L failure - can anyone here tell me if there's a way of opening the flap manually? I know its not a rado but the C/L system is the same so I thought it'd be worth asking anyone on here for suggestions! Cheers!

Is there any stuff I can buy to sort this? My Audis been sat on my mates land for the last 4-5 months and i've just gone and picked it up to find that the leather on the steering wheel has cracked :| Any tips?

Do you mean a boost return deletion kit? If so use the search on here, you'll find many threads on them.

I have to agree, and I know we'll get accused of being 'blinkered' as this is a rado forum, but a VR6 'bland and uninspiring to drive'??? - it must have been a complete dog, especially when being compared to an old E30 bimmer.

On a tangent, I was at my local scrappies today and they had a Ferrari Mondial in that had had an engine fire - it's not something you see in a scrappies very often! Most of it looked in good nick especially the split rims!
-
Interesting putting an engine best suited to a nimble lightweight car, into a barge.
-
You can get a lot of car for £2k nowadays. I'd be thinking of a mint MK3 Golf TDI or possibly MK4 for that sorta cash - they're both pretty dull and mushy to drive but if all you want is a cheap daily hack you cant go wrong.
-
Yeah, i've had to endure a G60 without charger before and it's not much fun! It's OK in the short term but I wouldn't fancy it indefinitely!
-
Should also be on the inside cover of your service schedule in the owners handbook - if you have it!
-
I think the general consensus is that they shouldn't be needed, as Jim says if your standard parts are working as they should there should be no need to make the car run cooler. If your car is running hotter than it should, then there'll be a reason for that which should be addressed, rather than just using a lower temp stat/switch. I wouldn't fancy my engine running cooler than its supposed to, surly it would cause excess ware and tare?

The slave cylinder isn't expensive, and is quite an easy fix, I think the master cylinder is a bit more pricey and more difficult to get to but still not a major job. Try going on GSF or similar and looking them up :dorky:
-
How much will it cost for a master/slave cylinder?

I know we get a lot of stick for locking posts, but that's exactly why! Which also sorta makes this thread ironic! Please use your existing thread mate - viewtopic.php?f=23&t=78726 - that way any info is kept in fewer threads which makes it far easier to search for info. -
Thy did also come in Polo Gt and G40s, but that's a late 16v/8v steering wheel and like DIGGERB says, it's NOT leather sorry mate :(
-
lots!

I have to agree, i've got absolutely no sympathy for people who do stuff like this and have to pay the consequences.
-
Ah, I thought I recognised the plate on this car on ebay - click - but it must have just reminded me of yours! I assume it was registered at the same place/time! Great pics too, i'm not usually one to comment on picture quality but these are fantastic

Bastards there's nothing worse than coming out and finding that some scrote has had his hands on your motor. A true sign that Corrado prices are at an all time low! The thing is with yours (I assume) is that it'll be colour coded too, so that makes it even more odd, and expensive/trouble to sort out! :(
-
That sounds like the slave or master cylinder has gone, try using the search mate you'll find loads of threads

All Corrados came with a hydraulic clutch mate

A local company - Celtic Tuning, it was done by the previous owner.
