  1. Ah well, 'tis a great shame but as long as you're happy with the deal that's all that matters I suppose! Lets hope the Vr6 gives you as trouble free motoring as the 8v anyhow! :)
  2. And he'll get it too I reckon , like I say - the thought of a rado that will return 35mpg+ on average (i've seen way over 40mpg from 8v's) is very tempting to alot of people nowadays - i've no intention of getting back into rado ownership for another year or two but would seriously consider a low mileage decent 8v.
  3. In fact, i'll give you £1500 for it, if you're not too far away.
  4. Absolutely, completely and utterly IMO You'd have sold that on here very quickly, if it's in as good a condition as it looks I see no reason why you wouldn't get £2k for it - i'd be happy to pay that. At the moment people can't afford to run most Corrados so demand for the 8v is on the up, especially with low mileage/owners and in nice straight condition.
  5. :( - what sort of mileage has it got mate?
  6. Looks like a lovely 8v though! I hope you haven't let it go for cheap as they're becoming more and more sought after! I assume you're trading it at a Corrado specialist?
  7. Could it be that the pic is too big mate?
  8. It could be that you rumbled someone trying to nick the wheels and had only got as far as taking the bolts out of one?
  9. Yeah, the 8v's did come with the immobiliser/chipped key/decoder
  10. My advice > Ask the person you've just paid to paint it for you. Internet forums are a minefield of people giving information out when they haven't really got a clue, if you ask the paintshop then you're not only getting advice from someone who actually knows what they're on about through first hand experience as a professional, but you'll also have a leg to stand on if you did do the wrong thing and mess up the paintwork - if you go and polish off the new paint after taking advice from an armchair expert with an internet degree, your painter isn't going to rectify it for free is he!?!
  11. Try having a baby then, mine isn't even born yet and he's already cost me more than driving Corrados for 5 years did
  12. ^^ Haywards new best mate
  13. As above, i'd be surprised if there was a case, allthough the evidence is pretty compelling - so it'll be interesting to see what they say, and where it goes if they stick to their guns. If they change their minds now it's as good as admitting that not only did they not grease the bearing, but they also tried to shift the blame and not take any responsibility for their poor workmanship
  14. You forgot to insert this smiley mate > :smug:
  15. The chances of it being a problem with the part look to be next to none! Whether you can prove that categorically though remains to be seen  Good luck with it anyhow mate :salute:
  16. Unfortunately, where the problem will lie is with the fact that you supplied the part, I don't think you'll get anywhere legally because of this. Granted, it would have been good of the garage to admit liability, it's fairly obvious from the pics that a schoolboy error was made, as they say - "you can't eat a roast dinner without the gravy" :camp: , but as they didn't supply the part they have a get out of jail free card - whether it would make more business sense to hold their hands up and sort the problem out or not is a different matter to whether they are legally responsible. They had the option to admit that the bearing wasn't greased, if they'd have taken this option they would not only be loosing money/time but would also be owning up to making a fairly unprofessional mistake. Or they can argue that the part supplied was poor, and save loosing money and face - all they stand to loose is your recommendation. I think when you choose to supply your own part this is the risk you take, if anything goes wrong it's very easy for the garage to blame the part. As Dr Mat says, this is why more and more garages will refuse to let you supply the part (that and the fact that they make a profit from supplying their own!) I've got my car booked in on Wednesday to have the front N/S wheel bearing replaced, and i've sourced the bearing myself (a genuine OE part) - I've saved myself a few quid by getting the bearing myself but I fully acknowledge that if anything was to f**k up with it i'd have to take it on the chin.
  17. A dude on another forum I use asked me to post this up, if anyone's interested let me know and i'll pass it on :dorky: EDIT - Apparently it's on E38 too so you can contact him on there if you're a member
  18. Autowatch are awesome alarms, but i've heard no end of people having problems with Cliffords over the years  An alarm is only as good as the guy that fits it really, but i'd never opt for a Clifford given the choice.
  19. £1200 sounds pretty good in fairness, for an 18 year old! 8) You can wangle a bit of discount from mentioning you're a member of a forum or enthusiast club etc with most companies really.
  20. Used to be Jim's on here didn't it? It's been on the forum for years if so!
  21. Nah, If I remember correctly it was on an Ebay ad years ago where some bloke was claiming it added 5bhp to his car or something :cuckoo:
