NEW CORRADO FORUM INSURANCE SCHEME VIA CHRIS KNOTT INSURANCE
Walesy replied to ChrisKnottIns's topic in Insurance
Just called to take the quote up, and realised that it wasn't you guys that had given me the best quote, and there's no-one there called Stuart   -
Remember he's Welsh, Dave - it can take a while for things to sink in for us lot  Looks like a nice one anyway, love them in Silver! I'm sure it wont be staying a straight 16v for long knowing you 8)
-
You're not wasting any time mate! What the plans for the interior then?
-
Selling a rare one to buy a common one? I'm sure the V6 growl will make up for it
-
The difference is that the Astra needs all the help it can get to become a desirable and sporty looking car, the Corrado really doesn't. Putting leary kits like that on a rado is a shame to see IMO - although it's obviously down to whoever owns the car to do with it what they like.
-
This thing lives in the same village as me, a few when times i've seen it on my way home from the pub i've nearly had it mixed up with a reiger kitted rado  Awful looking things :gag:

New Scirocco pics (in the flesh ooo-err)
Walesy replied to cymru-corrado's topic in General Car Chat
A jack of all trades but master of none then? I'm even more intrigued to have a drive now tbh, as the driving position and dash etc looked pretty good to me! -
Are you going to have a test drive in one Tempest? After a good look around one i've got to say i'm intrigued, I think i'll take one out for a spin. I wouldn't buy one new but maybe in a couple of years once the major depreciation has been lost :)
-
I had a look around a new rocco in the local dealership yesterday, I was actually impressed - it looks much better up close IMO :) I put a post on here a few weeks back for a dealer in London who was looking for some nice Rados and Roccos for the launch weekend, they were offering £200 worth of parts for free for those that turned up - I only had 1 enquiry! - I was really surprised when you consider how many people here 'show' their cars for free as much as they can!
-
Yeah the gearbox needs addressing in them for sure, the 5th needs to be longer as well - the CTN (Mk3 diesel) box is apparently a really easy and cheap swap. It'll always be horses for courses, not everyone will prefer the same thing from their car but going on what snattrass has said, the VR6 isn't for him so i'd strongly suggest he tries a decent G60 before going for another valver.
-
I'd definitely say try a G60 out, a well sorted one is absolutely the right balance. I love driving VR6's, especially on the motorway and I like the refined drive the large engine gives, they sound awesome and the engine does seem well suited to the chassis - but overall i'd say I much prefer G60's, the only downside is that none of them came with the late interior. They can be tuned up to and over the same power as a stock VR6 very cheaply, the gearbox is definitely worth looking into as that's what lets them down a bit but with a smaller pulley and chip they're a complete pleasure to throw around twisty roads and have a really unique sound - a completely different experience to a VR6 IMO, a lot more raw and drivable.

Hi mate, I can't say i've seen or heard of any tbh. The only aftermarket headlights on the market to my knowledge are the angel eye ones.
-
Hi mate, cheers for using the classified section but as you're just looking for an idea of price i've put your thread in the general section. When you've got an idea of how much, feel free to put a proper advert into the For Sale section :) As for ideas on how much it's worth, i've no real idea but I can't imagine it would be much with a fecked engine, he'd obviously be better off sourcing a decent engine and having it fitted before selling but if he cant do that i'd say a MK3 shell in spot on condition with a nice interior would be worth around £1k tops?
-
How much is it up for this time then?
-
Cant say im a fan of the wheels or the guy either tbh, I can never work out whether he's taking the piss when he acts like he does, like Ali G or something but a bit more tongue in cheek so less people notice it
-
It's the Tuscan that has them, not the chimera
-
Yeah it's the whole unit being mentioned above - £100 for just the glass is ridiculous! - You can buy cheap stick on mirror film from halfrauds mate - if you just need to replace them due to corrosion it might be worth using that, i've used it before and you wouldn't be able to tell.
