Yeah I agree, it's not just about out and out power more all round driveability. It'll be interesting to see what it's like on the motorway etc with the diesel 5th gear Nice one anyway, it's good you're happy with it (for the moment) after all the time and deliberation that's gone into it. And to think it was only 3-4 weeks ago you had priced up the parts to break it!

Is the car far away from where you live? As in.. could you pay for the car and just leave it where it is for a week or two while you wait for documents etc to arrive?

Lovely

Good idea Tim but I have a feeling that Mr Bigpantsbaby will be using this as a list of items he can get most profit from!

Nah, not one of my ex's :) I had a nugget G60 J482WOC

Ah ha, the old 'keeping up with the jones's' syndrome - it's seems to be what keeps everyone going out and spending money they haven't actually got. Sod what your mates are driving dude, just live within your means and enjoy what you've got for what it is :)

How much is a new windscreen for a Corrado VR6?

Haha, you're right

Hi mate, congratuations on the purchase! I'm pretty sure most people use VW Synta Silver oil, you can buy it from VW but I think GSF sell the same stuff cheaper. As for the 16VT - it's a fairly rare conversion but there seems to be a few people taking it on at the moment, using the 16v engine as a base (G60 engines are 1.8 8v's)

Judge the car on it's condition rather than mileage, allthough mileage will have some baring on the value. Good luck with your search :)
-
It depends on whether you have the late interior or early interior, '92 was the changeover year. A quick way of telling, is that the window switches are on the doorpods on the later interiors, and on the actual doorcard on early interiors. If you have a late interior it should be a straight swap, assuming the pattern/material is the same! :)

http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... =3&t=66524 LK4Z is Blackberry mate, maybe Brombeer is German for blackberry? :)
-
Hmmm, there's an S2 avant for sale localy for £3k - if it wasn't for the fuel economy i'd be all over it like a rash. The seats are soooooo comfy (would be awesome in a rado actually)
-
As it's an M reg it'll either be a blackberry or a sherry pearl - it should be easy enough to tell the difference as ones very purple and the other is more of a dark burgandy/red colour, but if you're not sure you can allways check the paint code which should be on a sticker on the inside of the rear panel, and also in your owners manual.

Nice one fella, looking forward to a blast in this when you've put a few more miles on it 8) if I don't hurry up knowing you you'll take it apart again before I get chance!
-
I can't say it's something i've ever taken notice of, but as far as I know the warning triangle has allways been in a red or orange plastic case in early and late models - i've no idea what the new ones from VW look like sorry :)
-
I think full size spares/spacesavers were allways an option thing, not sure that there was any difference to do with the year the car was made.
-
Yeah, that's why I asked what year the car is - it's the easiest way of telling. It looks more blackberry than anything else but it's a strange light.
-
Yeah you're will be an early dash if the cars a 91. The main difference between the late/early dash's are the heater controlls - the early dash has the slider type and the late dash has dials and a few other minor changes. Here's a pic of the early.. And the late..

I just popped out to get a few ebay pics of my car and had to lol at this pair of muppets.. Not the first time i've seen people stuck there but the first time I happened to have a camera with me! Needless to say, after taking a couple of pics and having a laugh, I did get out and give them a hand and we got them out in the end :)
-
Yeah same here. I suppose G-Werks will b e the place to take your G40 from now on then!
-
The one on the left in this pic is a bordeaux red... What year is the car?

It's hard to say for definate from looking at those pics mate, due to the lighting. It looks like it's either a blackberry or bordeaux red. If it's purple it'll be blackberry but if it's red/burgandy it'll be bordeaux as far as I can make out :)
