  1. Hi mate, Is the fan coming on before it gets to 110deg? there's 2 stages on the fan, stage 1 should be on by 110deg. It could be that the rad fan switch is naffed?

Yeah spent a few days near camborne just before christmas 17th -21st december so it was probably me you spotted on the A30. Can't recall seeing any other c's on my travels i am always on the lookout. What were you driving? I was on the opposite side of the carriageway in a T25 camper so it's not really suprising you didn't see me, your car looked awesome on the move though it has to be said!
  3. Back on topic... That gaitor looks OK to me, and not overpriced either. I'd be interested to see a pic of it 'in situ' as and when you order one mate. ..oh , and i'll move this into the suppliers forum!
  4. Looks like 'Rightsaidfred' has covered most of your queeries g40 ad  , that's a fairly comprehensive post! :) - but like he says - the search feature is your friend, you'll find loads of topics have been covered on here before so it's allways worth having a look. Also, have a look at the scirocco regester, as i'm pretty sure there'll be a few G60 'rocos on there.
  5. Corrado dealers will only be buying their stock from the same places that you can buy them from directly (i.e Autotrader,Pistonheads,Adtrader,Ebay, Forums like this one etc etc) then adding a premium, which is why, personaly I wouldn't buy from a dealer unless they had a particular Corrado that I wanted, at a price I was happy to pay. You should use the same caution when buying from a dealer as you should when buying privately. RAC checks are pretty intense, bare in mind when you get the report back that the car being checked is over 12 years old. I had someone run a Rado I was selling through an RAC check once, and the inspector went through my car with a fine tooth comb for 2 hours. He told me that it was VERY rare that he had to check cars that were more than 2-3 years old and worth much less than £8000 so it's a pretty tough test to put such a relitavely old and inexpensive car through. I suppose from a buying perspective it's worth doing for peace of mind, but don't get too hung up on minor details such as the car having less layers of paint in some areas than others (they have a little gadget that can tell if any of the panels have ever been painted) etc as MOST cars on the road have had bits of bodywork done at some point, sometimes even before they've left the forecourt they've had little scrapes here and there touched up so as long as the car looks spot on who cares? I think this was the gist of what the inspector told the guy that was buying my car, as he bought it anyway so he can't have been that put off.
  6. haha, I have to admit to the fact that i've not washed my rado once since owning it  (3-4 months). I bought the meguires 3 step and clay bar kit the same day I picked the car up and I just haven't bothered to use it  I gve the inside a proper valet (or is the word 'detail' nowadays?) and haven't done that since day one either  - I think it's probebly down to the fact that I never drive it.

Were you in Cornwall recently mate? I'm sure I saw a lovely looking blue Storm with a Storm plate on the A30 a few weeks back.
  8. I think you can get them from GPC for around £70-£80 the pair.
  9. Yeah they should be roughly in the same area, the other thing it might be is a blocked oil cooler?
  10. It might be worth checking the oil temp sender mate, I had a G60 that was showing oil temps like that due to the sender being duff.
  11. http://the-corrado.net/wiki/index.php/C ... Engine_Bay ^^ There's a couple of guides there too mate
  12. Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhh the mystery    It's a scenecret
  13. The panels were the same whether the car's a valver, g60 or VR6 - however, the wings/bonnet were changed in 1992 from early to late so it would depend on what year the G60 is? If it's a J reg (92) then it could be either late or early. Your valver will have 'early' front panels 'cos it's a H reg. Either way, both early and late panels will fit your car so it comes down to preference.
  14. I've never seen a black headlining, or sunvisors - i'm pretty sure neither exist
  15. I'm pretty sure supercharged has a 6 speed box in his PD rado
  16. I've not seen any metal handles on a rado ever mate, if you could get hold of metal handles then you could have them chromed fairly cheaply but i'm pretty sure they don't exist, there's a very small chance that a euro or american company make metal/chrome handles but like I say - i've never seen them for sale or on a car. Thinking about it, it's pretty suprising no-one's ever made replacement handles as the rado ones are crap on many levels  If you use the search, I expect you'll find some threads on the audi handle mod, it's fairly expensive to do but does make a big difference - the rado handles are pretty ugly tbh. The easiest/cheapest way of making them not stand out as much is obviously to have them colour coded which is fairly popular.
  17. Why don't you keep the engine (assuming it's fine) and put a manual gearbox in from an 8v, i'm sure you could pick one up easily/cheaply ? Here's a thread on changing from auto to manual: viewtopic.php?t=17155
  18. Can't say i've ever seen chrome handles mate, i'm not sure that they're available anywhere :(
  19. Mk3's are as solid as a rock in general. The interior is all very well put together etc and will make your rado feel alot older! Like others have said, the MK3 8v's are bullet proof - great fuel economy, easy to work on, and they go on forever. I'd personaly go for an 8v over a 16v, this is also the case with rados - the 8v is FAR better.
  20. Hi mate Firstly, have a look in the 'group buy' section, at the top of the section there's a thread about door handle repair kits that a member on here called daves16v makes, door handles are a common fault on rados. With your door pins, that's a strange one! - there should be a thin metal rod that moves up and down as the lock works, I don't really know what to suggest about that one other than to try and work out how the mechanism works when you lock the car and see if there's anything obviously missing etc :? If you use the search feature you'll find loads of info on pretty much every aspect, including tuning the 16v lump - there's not alot that can be done but there's certainly a few inexpensive mods that make a difference (putting the cams from the 1.8 into the 2.0 is a popular one which can give gains of 15hp) Also, have a look in the drivetrain section, there's a thread in there about suspension kits, the Weitec seems to be a popluar all round choice taking budget into consideration.
  21. I fully agree, finding a rado with a straight shell and decent paintwork is becoming very, very difficult
  22. Am I gonna get home to find my bunny being boiled on my stove?
  23. Yeah, it might sound crazy mate but G-Werks are the only place that you can guarantee a decent job - and they also have the reputation that carries weight when it comes to re-selling your car (i.e a g60 with a g-werks serviced charger will sell easier than a g60 with a jabbasport charger) Send it down there, you may even have it back within a week all done.
