wait til you get just "slightly" bitten by the modding bug.............
-
if it felt hard to drive ie throttle pedal felt a chore......then its more than likely just needing a new throttle cable.........when they're knackered its a real chore to drive
-

-
more so than the ahem *cough* MGF did???? :-P
-
:D your welcome stu......so hows C ownership then.....still enjoying it??
-
alex,as i said before i'm no carb expert etc....but IIRC carb icing isn't really to do with the ambient temp so much as more to do with moisture in the carb(pretty sure its this) evaporating very quickly and "icing" the carb......but its been well over 14 years since i last had a carb'd motor so kinda forgot the reasons why they Iced up.......maybe as Dazzyvr6 says its not a problem on bigger carbs but my old Fordie VV carb was a total nightmare for it especially once i had a K&N filter on!!
-
aye but its not just winter that carb icing is a problem.....
-
no carb expert btw alex................but will you not also need to have some sort of warm-air source to prevent carb-icing?????
-
won't beat an allegro tho :-P :-P     ......how many of them in skelmersdale then???
-

-
don't want to worry you too much but it could well have a hole in the housing/casing etc  .............apart from its loss of oil........has it been problematic with anything else????
-
AFAIK its the AAA-2.8 VR  .........no doubt with some lovely emission controls tho
-
AFAIK 178bhp is what VW(america) quote the SLC as being
-
hmmmmmm but tbh i'd rather be "lazy" and have my fan cut in/out at the required temp than have to knacker my starter motor and battery with constant stop/starting............cos i can't see it being too good an idea myself :?
-
true......of course you need a S***-hot starter motor and juicy battery with all the stopping and starting  :-P :-P :-P :-P
-
    why wait 6 months for a fan motor though
-
Dr_Mat i think he's refering to the power figures for N.American spec VR's btw.......178bhp........tho not sure if an american pony is the same as one of our UK ponies???????????
-
i think they need a wee word with jimG60 to realise that they'll regret it within weeks
-
yeah likewise thomas sorry to hear that yer C ownership is coming to an end soon mate :(
-
ahh thats where i go wrong too..........i kinda like to go ROUND round-abouts you see.....didn't realise the way to drive properly was too go sideways into them and stop with the kerb  right enough of this.........tis getting a tad off-topic now.....its not a thread about mine or your driving styles.....its about whether to get schrick cams or normal cams
-
......or a passat coupe......which is the favourite up this way with Golf owners  :-P :-P made up by corrado owners.....   suppose right enough glen could be classed as a C-owner...........afterall it was him that was first to call them passat coupes' up our way :-P ........though tbh i think he classes himself more of a Golf owner than a C owner
-
i wish!!!!............better than hitting round-abouts of course  :-P ...............
-
AFAIK kevhaywire has done this........and i'll move this into "inside your interior" section too
