    16v tune up

if i were you i would get jim curley to RR tune it...........reckon on about 1 hours RR-time + parts(if required)
  6. mad that he's asking top money for it and its got a miss-match of servicing agents........and not even any reciepts......as for the Cat 1 i think you can have this inspected by a thatcham-apporved installer who would then certify that it complies with Cat1.....though IIRC this would be to your additional cost...................though it might still be worth chasing up as i was always under the impression Autotek C's were of decent quality..........but deffo haggle hard
  7. yip looks like the same size too :( :( :( .............just mine is 2-3 inches past the door shut
  8. AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!        .........just had someone's door blow open into the side of my storm.......surprisingly i wasn't too bad to the offender.....especially considering the mother of all door knocks now on the rear qtr bang on the swage line too    ..........and i know she was genuinely sorry to see the damage she caused......anyway she gave me her contact details(and vice-versa) and i told her i would prefer it to go through insurance and she was fine about it........got a phone call from her 1 hour after it happened and she gave a number to phone, which turned out to be her insurance and to cut a long story short its going to go into a VW-approved repairer and get fixed once the quote has come through........and i'll get a courtesy/hire car too......so it just goes to show that there are at least some decent people out there  ...........even though she was a bit careless by not holding on to her door when she opened it at least she's making amends for it.....well touch wood
  9. totally agree with ya there
  10. fi the fluid level is fine..........i'd go with it being a dodgy sender in the cap.......mine did this when i first bougth it......and just gave the plunger a few movements up n down and its not given any problems since
  11. then again.............if its been totally cosseted and just not been shown on the VW circuit £7500 looks fairly cheap for it considering i noticed Paul Kippax's concours winning C VR6 in VW-Driver's classifieds for £9995 with 73k miles.....deffo worth going along to view IMHO
  12. perhaps you've maybe answered this question in your other post?????? http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... ht=#120016
  13. here's a few pointers for you............ 1)knackered sender perhaps.....or some sort of bad earth???? 2)have you checked the seat is still connected to the plug under the seat????............if it is........its maybe just something as simple as the heat pads(approx £50 per side) needed repaired or replaced.....IIRC icewhitesocks repaired his recently 3)have you checked yer CV joints for splits or are the gaiters and general area caked with grease...........sounds like a Knackered CV joint to me 4)ALWAYS USE NGK plugs for the VR..........due to the intense heat generated by the engine NGK's seem to be the ones that can take it the best.........DON'T buy these from VW tho.........they sometimes charge £20 ea   ......as for oil........you won't go wrong with Synta-silver(semi-synthetic)or you can use Synta-gold(fully synthetic)........VW's own branded oil from their $tealers or from the likes of GS&F............tho don't be too surprised if using the Synta-gold you have a more tappetty engine......i've used Gold in mine since i bought it 3 years ago and have't had any problems whereas others have..........so the Silver seems to be the "safer" choice so to speak.........also if i were you i would budget on a coolant change/brake fluid change/Fuel filter change and get them to check the "serpentine" belt as well.....unless these have been done in the past 12-18 months of course 5)its all a personal choice with suspension but if you want it lowered best use quality suspension kits
  14. not a problem at all Joe......in fact you must be due at least a drive with you at the controls of mine
  15. correct :D and obviously 280mm= VR6(5-stud of course)
  16. TSR should be the same price too  just be down to PnP then
  17. you should be ok disc-wise at the $tealer as long as you tell them its for a Corrado VR6 or pre-96(m/y) Golf GTi/16v/VR6 and as long as they know its the 280mm discs you need
  18. see what jim curley can do for you failing that you could always ask grim if he can use his discount at work too
