  1. just ask them "in what way are they fixed/fitted"......hook type or bar type fixing?.....its just that milltek do both and both G60 and VR6 systems are identical save for the way they fix/fit to the car....with some late G60's using the bar-type IIRC
  2. and fingers crossed i'll be getting it colour copied for you tomorrow
  3. funnily enough the roadtest nick is after pits the CTR against the clio 172 sport
  4. i'm thinkin of a white VR owning mod who just so happens to have porsche adapters lyin around....and who's back to these shores by thursday
  5. or the first white line he straddles
  6. I took the badges off at the weekend and i have some "trim" double sided tape to put em back when its not frosty!! I'm still undecided about the suspension and wheels. seeing as i got these so cheap and the tyres on them are brand new i'll probably try and lowerer it sooner rather than later and then when these tyres wear out look for a set of 17"s. how long should michelin pilots last in an ideal world? i dont usually push it round corners too hard... get it dropped!.....makes the wheels look less lost and gives it a better stance/look too.....not too mention the better handling  ..........and of course no need to change for 17's......as for tyres i put on my Goodyear's almost 18 months/15+k miles ago and they are still going strong
  7. although they are near enough the same they can use different fixings/fittings......hook or bar type which is chassis number dependent other than that seem like a good deal you've obtained there.......seen the fit and finish on a friend's old C VR6 and was very impressed
  8. hello matey and welcome to the forum
  9. sorry brian but they look more like the dealer-fit Ronals or Raders that VW and Audi dealers were selling in the early to mid 90's.......must admit they do look pretty similar to the alloys that some vauxhalls had around the same era
  10. looks well sweet mate..........can see how kevhaywire thinks its possibly a storm too.............looks soooo much like mine did before getting the coilies

    2.0 16v Chip

  PMSL!!!! joe  ...........his IS faster than a VR6.....that was why he was asking about a chip in some other thread too
  12. yip nick....i've got the autocar roadtest of the CTR somewhere.........give me yer postal address again mate and i'll get a colour copy of that and the Corrado VR6 roadtest so you can show him the true facts
  13. the £20 per side was a casher.........might be an idea to speak to a friendly(decent) mechanic ....... can understand with xmas coming up and all that........its not so much the "losing" the grease thats the problem......its the fact all the ingress of grit, crap and water that can play havoc with the joints etc......i just thought it would be sod's law that you get 1 side done and then a month later the other side would need doing......by all means just get the "split"-side done first again sooner rather than later
  14. its also a MOT failure point.........but as others have said get it seen to asap.....my driver's side one was split last year for so i decided to get the pass.side one done at the same time........got the CV boot kit from VW at £13 per side and paid £20 a side to get fitted at my local garage......most decent garages should find this not a problem to do at all
  15. sounds like he's speaking gonads to me............don't get me wrong it is a rare factory colour....i think only 500 in both 16v and G60 flavours
  16. Does anyone know of any C's in Aus? They never sold them there. i know of at least one storm in NZ tho it was taken out there when the owner emigrated
  17. its more to do with the fact that even with all mods finished struan hasn't a hope in hell of getting his C on the rollers unless his front bumper is off
  18. brian.....clark aka dickdastardly was told that it was glen aka ess_three who did the mods to my airbox....and i would imagine as clark only met glen briefly for 5 mins he maybe forgot his name.....afterall there was well in XS of 25 people there at any one time......and if you look in any of my past posts regarding my "modded" airbox you'll see that ive always(99% of the time) credited ess_three with doing it......i have never taken plaudits for things i've never done myself
  19. you mean this one matey :?:
  20. i'll move this into caring and repairing section
  21. the alloys were also available on very early pre-interior facelifted VR6's too
  22. my 2pence here just bite the bullet and buy new front discs....amazingly cheap to get Ate power grooves from EuroCarParts  .....save you getting the existing ones skimmed and having the wheels on and off again..... as fro the bearings it depends on what you want...........go to the stealer and get the better quality VW ones or save a small amount and go to GSF or similar
  23. this is the same person by the way lol[/quote:af6db] well martin's is Ice grey violet
