no disrespect to valver owners but I can assure you a G60 is faster than a valver

the figs you see on the net tho were a car mags figs IIRC VW state the G60 does 0-60 in 7.3secs and 8.9secs for the 1.8 16v...........VR's are 6.9secs 0-60

they're all decent motors with their own faults and merits,like Andy has said don't rush into buying one,these days condition(mechanical/body/interior) is more important than age/miles

it should be in a black foam container at the driver-side,behind the side carpet cover(assuming RHD).....if its not there then you probably have an aftermarket system fitted,which would be rather strange as C/L was a std feature on ALL C's

also be wary of taking the water temp guage's reading as gospel,mine has read 100 degrees when its only 92 degrees according to a vag-com scan

ALL Corrado's(apart from G60 and 1.8 16v's which were stopped 1992-ish) the rest stopped production in July 1995

I use ATE pads,just ordered them at the same time

Ive used ATE power grooves for the past 4years,they are a fair improvement over the std discs stopping power wise tho obviously they create more dust pricewise its £30ea not a pair.............std VW discs are £35 ea btw,its only pads that come as a pair :wink: good VFM at anyrate

I've only got a N/S wing left and as it was off a G60 its slightly different from post92 models,Ive got a set of the Solitudes(not the ones on L140TSR btw same design obviously) that were refurbed by coatech in Carnoustie about 3+yrs ago for £30 per wheel,or there's that guy the "Polisher" near Glasgow who's meant to be decent........what sort of BBS did it come with btw.........you need to post pics up as thats quite a decent sounding indecently cheap Storm ps those are the leads that were on it when I looked at it

yeah I was breaking a G60 in the summer and Mark took just about what was left,you a mate of Mark's then???.....£1k more for a Storm..........what you complaining about :lol: what colour did you get? and what miles??

sorting out the electrics in the next few weeks(hopefully its just a dodgy wire) tho not the end of the world if its a new motor £100-ish from VW.....so worst case means my Recaro's have cost me £200 the s/r is still bu66ered,but we know whats wrong there wasn't any weird noise from the engine when I started it,apart from its unbelievably quiet for the miles and is totally smoke free from cold or when booting it...........even at the £1.9k I paid it was a bargain so if you did manage to buy it for £1.3k it would have been steal of the century,just needs rear discs.........but like I said I had it practically sold on when I picked it up,and managed to sell it on within days for just £100 loss,which I was happy to take as it got it out of my hair before I got too attatched to it its also been relieved of its speedlines as Ive always wanted a set 8)

Think I know the one, L140 TSR? If so I wanted it ok but not from the garage, there was a feck up by the sellers daughter, she let it go to him when I was on my way down to have first dibs as agreed...£1300 he paid for it. I ended up getting a Storm anyway which was what really wanted, had to pay a little bit more. thats the one :lol: ,the guy who sold it to me had bought it from the guy who bought it from the seller who's daughter fecked up by the sounds of it as he paid £1.7k for it from another trader(well so he told me....he seemed genuine enough),he had it up for £2.5k originally,I went to view it when it was £2.2k,drove it and it felt right,had a mate HPI check it as I was selling it straight on after removing the Recaro's,that came up clear,then when I knew I had a buyer waiting in the wings I paid £1.9k,swapped Recaro's and was happy to take a wee loss of £100,like Ive said tho,its a good blank canvas mechanically its as quiet as my 77k miler,just a pity I couldn't justify keeping it......bizarrely enough its now wearing grey leather Recaro's/interior,suits it better than beige tbh
