£500 is a bit steep considering the work its needing.........those older Passats go for pennies even the Diesel ones aint too dear to buy
-
Sorry yeah dealer fit, I didn't think that VW dealers did this type of thing?? Scott's of London........ were(still are IIRC) der AbT specialists and VW dealers too  ...........also did Oetinger and Nothelle Corrados 8)
-
doubt it would be factory fit.........more likely dealer-fit
-
where did you get your radiator from?........or was it a re-core?.........mate had a VR6 with a re-cored radiator and it would empty the coolant pretty quickly too..........no visible drips from it but when it was running it would spray a fine jet from the front of it...........a radiator from Euro-car-parts sorted it in the end for £30 more than the re-core too

with each year obviously more C's will start getting scrapped due to uneconomic to repair situations etc ,however it appears only to be a small amount of G60's that are being converted from G60 to 20VT so IMO i can't see it making too much of a difference in prices........besides everyone knows the VR6 is the best C ever :-P  (only joking)

turbo 968's...........as rare as Corrado Campaigns IIRC

Steal of the century if it is

my ABS light came on last week and i think ive found my problem  ........water has been dripping from above the ABS ecu and getting in to the unit........so far(touch wood) its only been one isolated incident and hopefully its been cured by removing all the crap(leaves etc) from the scuttle area but might be worth checking if your footwells(passenger side in RHD) are a bit damp like mine was last week
-
well said.. wide rims are needed for a reason... Women don't need huge breasts, doesn't mean they don't look good though... sorry but more than a handful in the breast dept is a waste of flesh
-
check fuses and relays to see if they are loose
-
old skool/or any wide rear rims on FWD cars   .............911's etc have wide rims on the rear for a reason M3 mirrors on VW's  plenty more but don't want to upset too many peeps
-
most engines at hot idle are 2-4bar......obviously more when cold
-
thats well cheap VW were selling them early last year for £90-ish+VAT
-
get it on VAG-COM if you can to rule out those pesky sensors  ..........could also be the fuel pump on its way out.......mine used to do the cutting out at junctions once in a blue moon(but easily 2/3 times a year )prior to getting a new fuel pump over a year ago and touch wood.........not done it since
-
without trying to sounding elitist............this is a quote from a Porsche 928 specialist......"if you can afford the petrol you can afford to run it"............ok the 928 is v v low teens mpg    but the VR is low-to-mid 20's round town(driving economically) and late teens if you hammer it round town...........so if you can suffer having to pay a bit extra on fuel over yer clio then go for the VR but tbh fuel ain't such a major issue with the VR as things that can go wrong now and again
-
nice motor............even if its an auto  .........anyway IIRC someone on here was looking at this car(or at least another 93/94 reg'd oettinger auto) about 12-18months ago
-
get it on VAG-COM  will either be the factory immobiliser playing up or perhaps a coolant temp sensor starting to fail
-
check yer coolant temp sensors too m8
-
that looks to be late VR6(94>) cloth..........so door cards won't be identical to you're existing ones
-
if they are similar to the digi-dash in the UR-quattro..........you can convert it to read mph at the touch of a button......well a long touch of a button
-
it also depends on what area/registration code the original number plate was for.......eg if the car was from London and had a P/P change up in my neck of the woods(Aberdeenshire) then it would get a local(to me) replacement number if it was to get the P/P changed again........if ya know what i mean
