  1. Not normal... could be the belt or a pulley out of allignment? Spray some belt dressing or WD40 on it while running to see if it makes a difference. If not then maybe a boost leak?
  2. Ah that's one positive thing at least!! Thanks for the update... So who is still awaiting parts or refunds for bits?? The ones I know or are Somersetdub Ray_VR6 Emu The following people also posted into his profile to chase stuff - have these been resolved?? http://the-corrado.net/member.php?17581-swampy Tigerfish StueyB Petmcr Anyone else???
  3. Lol... without a doubt it's the same guy... http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=364466 The reason he's not been banned yet is he promised me via PM that he would sort people out but we're still waiting for this to happen. I've contacted the mods on Saxexperience to see why he was banned
  4. Probably alarm I reckon - you'll probably find another box somewhere hidden... maybe disconnect it and see it the car still starts??
  5. Lol, so that's his own eBay account is it?? From ClubGTI...
  6. Have you had it on VAGCOM to confirm?? Was a new sender ring fitted with the cams?? old ones crack when the pulleys are torque'd up and cause cam sensor symptoms.
  7. Sheet - didn't realise it was this weekend!
  8. All I would say is be very careful with regards to rubber seals - TFR can be very strong stuff! My old heaps looking good at the moment... I snowfoamed it, pressure washed, hand washed then clayed before mopping it with the machine polisher to get rid of some light scratches. I then hand polished with Autoglym SRP (got rid of any swirls / holograms) and then 2 coats of Dodo Juice soft wax (the purple one) Pleased with how it came out and it now just cleans itself - every time it rains it looks like it's been washed again!
  9. Covers any products in this link apart from 2 things mentioned in the thread on HDUK http://www.3mdirect.co.uk/c-662-car-cleaning-products.aspx http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/3m-perfect-iii-cleaner-clay-detailing-clay-only-15-14-delivered-with-voucher-code-1565489?page=2#comments Most of this stuff is the best you can get - glass cleaner is excellent 10% code can be used as well as the 50% one so I just ordered £80's worth of stuff for £35! You need to spend over £30 for free delivery, selection is limited but you can add other stuff like masking tape - just won't be discounted. ---------- Post added at 8:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:58 PM ---------- Promotions Applied: CARCARE50, MAYCAR10
  10. As above housing different and gear ratios completely different for a TDI... I would just look at the transmission code on the data sticker (boot or log book) - if it's a CTN then keep it!
  11. Stonejag - what's the part number? I have a brand new one somewhere that is for an Auto!
  12. Is it a genuine rad Pete? If so I suspect the fan switch is skipping the first stage... I'm not saying there is anything major wrong but it shouldn't go past 90 regularly.
  13. If it's as good as it sounds then £5-8k now and maybe double that in a fews years - the good ones will become rare and worth top money - there is no doubt it's a future classic.
  14. I doubt he's bothered about the door Kev with the amount of welding that cars had... isn't the rear beam from an Allegro?
  15. I'd just stick to the VAG stuff mate - not expensive at all
  16. If it's the oil temp then normal but if it's the water temp gauge moving past the half way mark then not normal!
  17. Was anything loose?? I think you need to take it back to where it was aligned - I had mine done 6 years ago now and everything done up tight and still perfect despite the awful state of our roads!
  18. Maybe worth you calling Goodridge though mate just to check?
  19. For standard calipers you shouldn't need them as far as I know - only if you have a banjo connection you need one either side. ---------- Post added at 8:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:43 PM ---------- They look like this? http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=474 ---------- Post added at 8:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:44 PM ---------- They look like this? http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=474
  20. Sure you're not missing a washer??
