The polo steering column is two part, our one started to vibrate badly one day and we found it needed to be tightend up, was fine since

I think Nassa's was a storm, mystic blue looks a bit purple in the sun! Maybe Quentin used to have one but I know Tiff Needle had one that had £100k spent on it!!!!! Shaun Ryder has still got a tornado red G60
-
The vauxhall probably weighed half as much!
-
I bought my 55w Ice blue bulbs from Inters, the guy tried to sell me the 100w ones he had but I didn't because of what i'd heard altho he said they were 'legal' - why does it affect insurance???
-
Yes its to do with the relay... I don't think there is an easy fix for it, maybe a relay from a later car will fit??
-
I don't think they were actually standard equipement, just alot of people think they were... you can get them from VW but the ones Tesco sell fit fine!
-
give http://www.mcs-direct.co.uk a try, very good prices and service
-
Yes it should be just a case of swapping the red and yellow ones, have you also tried the other combo of 2 wires into one???
-
Yes, its a common problem on the MK2 and lead to rust appearing under the tailgate where the rubber boot is, easily fixed with some hammerite but worth fixing before it gets that bad!
-
Yes be careful with 100w bulbs - they have a habit of burning out the switch
-
Yes the Bosch ones are very good and OE i think - GSF sell these very cheap now as well - 4 year warranty i think I don't think most do come with lifetime, you can get them but there obviously more expensive. The previous owner put a Halfords one in mine, I thought these were equivelent in quality to the Bosch ones but have heard alot of bad things about them latley - anyone else had probs?
-
Yes my corrado insurance was only a bit more than my 1.6 driver and it was actually cheaper that my 8v Gti! If you don't get one now you probably never will as good ones are getting hard to find. Fuel economy isn't too bad at all on the VR6 and G60 considering the performance increase over the mk2 Gti's. I'd say I average about 28 MPG when my Gti and Driver both did about 30, obviously depending how you drive you can get anything between 15 and 40.

As I recall I think there is an option to chnage the type of account to UK You need to add a credit card or bank account to be able to send money... I think this took a couple of days becuase of security checks etc Sorry i cant be more help but stick with it, it works well once set up properly (like a corrado!)

Very true, I have driven alot of new cars over the last 3 years and nothing in the 10-15k range compares... Corrado's can be expensive to maintain but most are now owned by enthusiasts who want to keep them for a while and enjoy spending money (!?!) on there pride and joy - The way i see it is that new cars will depreciate at say £1000 pounds a year average over 3-5 years and the Corrado prices are really quite stable now as most are around 10 years old, you can't really expect to truly add value to one (except in your own eyes) but find a good one and keep it well maintained and it should hold its worth.

It was a standard colour on the mk3 and there seem to be a lot of Vento's about also - its fairly rare and looks suberb when polished up, a mate of mine has clay-barred his and the finish is fantastic
-
The G60 ones are only a 10er?? - the VR6 plugs are much less!
-
Don't worry about being more specific, it shouldn't leak and you will need a new one unless of course R2D2 can fix it somehow? - just go to your local dealer and ask for the 'big black box' for a corrado, they'll know what you mean. There not expensive but if you take someone with Jedi powers with you they can use mind control so you get it for free!
-
just get them from a VW dealer - they seem to be cheapest... less than £20 each
-
Same here, evn after a short drive just reaching temp it will run on for a few mins... you should also here the fuel pump running on also
-
May be nothing as I have not noticed any problems but whilst cleaning the car out today I noticed a small yellow plug with a single green wire coming off it hanging just behind the fuse box like it had fallen out? I cannot easily see where its missing from without taking the box out but wondered if anyone knew what the was for as its hard to track down a single coloured wire in the Bentley diagrams without knowing where it came from...

The old girl... What about the Corrado!! (seriously if the Corrado was feminine it would be a Corrada!) Yes, I thought you'd have to replace the IV soon! - mind you there can't be many parts left to change and with you new position of parts manager at the local dealership you'll be running out of things to do to your car! Agreed, I think i'm getting as fussy as you! - I do think it feels tight but would like to improve the handling and supress the body roll... also the steering and clutch felt very heavy compared to yours - I even put the tyre pressures up on my way home to VW spec but it made little difference :( The power is there but as you say only when in the revs (like driving a 16v GTi) - I will put that down to the fact thats its due for a plug change that I will do before putting it on the rollers at Stealth, then I will be able to see (from a mechanically sound car with 80k) the difference it makes rebuilding that second (auxillary) big alternator, sorry, can't remember what its called but it blows all the air in :? What was this thread called??

Hmmm.. all the mk2 boys go on about the Corrado interior being the nuts and I had Corrado front seats in mine and the driving position was superb in the C seats as they were so low but I always wished I had the rest of the corrado around me... Now I have the corrado I just wish I had the mk2 dash as it was so much more solid!! - even the mk3 is better - what went wrong with the corrado dash??
