On from the established facts that : Lupos are for Girlies, : Polos are for grannies & learners : Golfs are for old farts (and E38), : Phaetons are for company directors, : Beetles are for hippys Well I'd say the Corrado must definately be a proper bloke's car :) (Let the flame wars begin!!)

LOL, I'm waiting for Wendy to read this thread... hope you've got your flame suits on lads, ha ha ha

It'll be interesting to see if you can get the AMG sideways, because I thought that even the AMGs have a nannying Traction control & stability control fitted to prevent exactly that kinda stuff. Oh well, there's always the handbrake I suppose :thumb right:

If he's selling then I hope he bothers to wash it, unlike when it was on show at E38 a few months ago... Perhaps he's given up trying to work out the wiring - eh Jay? LOL

People have already forgotten that Jensen Button absolutely pounded everyone he raced in before he got to F1. Tremendous prior success in lower formulae is no guarantee of anything, as generally these are the best circuit drivers in the world. I'm not saying Hamilton won't be a success, but being champion is something else altogether...

Or "pokies" perhaps :D Found this update on the story. You've gotta love the fact that they tried something different : http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20061124-071240-4027r

Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that one before. Interesting to see the Corrado reviewed in the context of the cars of it's day I thought, although the luggage used in the demonstration looked a little bit "rigged" by VW to make the boot look big. Interesting fact : "Tiff" obviously isn't his real name. It stuck with him as a family nickname at an early age because his brother couldn't pronounce "Timothy" apparently.

Old, old old... this was posted on Pistonheads over a week ago...

200sx is one of the easiest/cheapest ways to get yourself a good drifting car. I used to work with a guy that had one. Personally I quite like them, although the interiors are cheap & nasty the mechanicals are bullet proof like most Nissans.

Be interesting to see if he can cut it with the big boys. Personally I'm not sure he really has got the magic required... more a "David Coulthard" than a "Nigel Mansell" I think... but I may be proved wrong. I wish him luck. If he's not immediately quick at McLaren his F1 career will be fecked pretty quickly...

R32 lumps will be as common as crystal rear lights in 12 months time - you see. I'm sticking with my trusty 12v...

Been there myself & done that. My sympathies to you. At least you weren't hurt, that's the main thing. -
It's my view that the kind of person who will be shelling out top-end money for a Corrado nowdays will be looking for *very* low mileage. Therefore, on the assumption that the car is showing average miles (90k +) I don't think he'll get more than £6,250 for it tops. He'd be better off keeping it - he's pi$$ed a load of money up the wall in any event as it would have been cheaper to have sold it & just bought a really sorted one (like Daz King's car, which was for sale recently) Just my 2p...

Differing attitudes of dealers - UPDATED with some sad news
corozin replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
Hi Andy, My sympathy to you, Sarah & the family at this sad time John -
Who is the oldest Corrado driver you know?
corozin replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
There's a Corrado Club member called George in Bournemouth area who is around 82 & still driving a red 16v. -
The death of M100 VRG was well documented (with photos I recall) on these pages. An unfortunate accident. The second Corrado died in an accident which wasn't my fault, scared the cr*p out of me (I was hit by an oncoming truck which crossed over the centreline), and I was very lucky indeed not to have been killed. So, 50% embarassed, 50% fortunate. I still have 5 of my original 9 nine lives left...

You must be psychic... Nick... there's a PM going to your mailbox. Wendy... bog off !

Yeah, this one (which is a manual) was bought by Guy, who sold it to Glenn in 2004, and I bought it off Glenn in February. Not only is it a rare car, it's had three "celebrity" owners as well, LOL

Also found this photo of the car doing promotional work on the VW Audi Driver stand the following year:

Here's a copy of the VW Audi Car review from November 1993. The car in the feature is the very car I own now (although the numberplate has changed the original registration is in the paperwork) As you can see, it is aqua blue, and didn't have the optional "quad" headlights fitted. I've tried to contact Nothelle regarding obtaining badges & info but they didn't reply (despite writing to them in German!) Enjoy the read. Jeremy - do you have a scan of the article you have?
-
Oh yes. This car was in fact Nothelle's own UK press car, and featured in a few magazines back in 1994. It's pretty rare, and indeed there is good reason to suspect that it may even be the only Nothelle spec'd VR6 in the UK. I have some scans which I'll post up at some point in a seperate thread for info, as although quite a few of the old-timers know the history of this car, I suspect there are some newer owners who know little about these cars. There are a lot of jobs that need doing to it, and I'm most of the way buying in all the parts I require to replenish/upgrade the entire suspension to semi race spec so I can get the thing really running at track days. I also have a bunch of bodywork bits to do (yes - the "Guy's arse" door will be going) before I emerge next year for the track day season.

Those Zender wheels were very "1980s". I know I am not the only owner to try and obtain them (in the spirit of originality). No matter... they wouldn't fit over the current brakes anyway as they are only 16's. Magnesium racing wheels are soooo much more my style anyway, lol
-
No point in voting, even if the Corrado was on the list. They'll fix it so the Integra wins

Stuff that Quattro... I want this one: no... hang on... I want THIS one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v1kxNnAsc0
