no, he doesn't really deal in valvers and said that I'd get a lot more if I sold it privately. The picture of the front end really doesn't show how bad it is. Looks like someone has been at it with a scouring pad or something!! Looking forward to going and getting it and seeing the paint job, should look great when thats done. just 7 days and counting till we go get it.........

yeah fuel economy is a bit crap but I'm sure the good points will outweigh the bad! It is a lovely colour, bonnet looks a bit horrific at the moment but once it's sprayed it'll be a beauty!! Suppose I should change my name now......

Today we went up to Manchester to see the Blackberry VR6 that He-Man is advertising and we put a deposit down. The front end is going to be resprayed and then we can pick it up next Saturday. 8) See here for details. I am very excited about our new purchase but now it means I have to sell the valver :(

Hello, nice to see another female C owner. Hope you get things sorted out with your car :D
-
Whenever you buy a new car you've got the problem of not knowing what you're getting. That's the dilemma I'm in, I've just fixed all the little niggles in my car, now thinking about buying another...... If they've offered you a good price then take it :D

I've just rang my insurance (Chris Knott) to see how much to change my policy for a vr6 (instead of 16v). My policy ends at the end of September and they want £95 extra. Not too bad I thought. They then told me that my renewal quote will be £780. (I originally paid £420 for 16v). Think when it comes to renewal time, I will have to ring around. After reading this thread I will be trying Flux, Elephant, Brentacre & HIC. Did anything ever come of that HIC bloke that posted about a discount?

It's the golf haynes that we had for the mk2 gti so it'll be fine. Thanks guys, hopefully I'll get it sorted at the weekend. :D EDIT: are noisy bearings an MOT failure?
-
I don't mind replacing both sides bearings, it's just the discs and pads I don't want to do if I can avoid it. I have a golf haynes but some things are different I've noticed

Whats the most embarrasing moment you've had in your corrado
blackcat replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah, I was following this chav I know one day, next time I saw him he says 'not many people get the chance to follow me cos I'm too fast' Err, hang on mate, I have a 1.8 16v and you have a 1.2 chav mobile(fiesta) .....think I might be a little faster...... -
If I replace the discs I need to replace the pads too don't I? I don't really want to have to replace discs and pads as they are fine and I don't have much money right now :(

I know what you mean. When I look at the scratch on my car it puts a big :( on my face but then I get in it and drive it :D :D :D :D I LOVE my car

Before anyone locks this, I have done a search and cannot find the answers I'm looking for. My passenger side rear bearings need replacing. First of all, if I do one side should I do the other too? Second, which haynes manual has the correct instructions (golf or passat)? And thirdly, is there any special tools that I need before starting and does anyone have any tips based on past experiences? Thanks :D

think it's repeated tonight

-
I'm not sure but I don't think you can get them for valvers...sure there's been posts on this before

G reg red (16v?) in the compasses pub car park in Rushden last night.......

This happened to my battery recently, it lost it's charge and then after various jump starting and chargings it just would not hold its charge anymore, so I just assumed it was an old battery and I bought a new one. It has been fine ever since (touch wood), so maybe that battery's useful life had just come to an end......
-
Hello & welcome, hope you get things sorted soon...... :D

My previous car did this because I put aftermarket wheels on and didn't have the ringspacer thingys. My rado was doing this because the inside of one of the back alloys was a bit out of shape, I didn't notice this, the garage pointed it out when I took it in for something else.
