someone please help me!!! If I am braking my indicators won't work. As soon as I lift my foot off the pedal they start to work. What is going on? It is quite annoying (and dangerous!) to be driving my car at the moment!!

Like everyone else has said.......glad you're ok Laura! The first time you're involved in an accident in a car is a bit scary, however minor the damage. But I bet that other woman was more scared after you'd finished with her :lol: Hope you get it sorted soon....at her expense of course! -
Yeah ditto. I was in lane three of a road that merges into a two lane road. I merged in between two cars when it was my turn to do so, but apparently the nice young man in the car behind me took objection to that and quickly swerved out from behind and then swerved back in front of me. Why did he do that? Did it really matter to him that he was one car in front? Bloody idiot. :mad:

If a valver is the same as the VR then yes the fronts are a bitch to replace!! I would advise taking it to a garage to be done properly. We did it ourselves and got a friend of a friend to press the bearings in and now we have a strange noise that we can't get rid off and every day I'm more and more convinced that the bearings weren't pressed in properly or the hub was bent. see my post http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43042

A new wheel hub on GSF is £31.50, do bearings come with it??

Who knows how insurance companies work, they are a mystery to me! The only thing you could do is get some quotes and see. I would think with no NC you are going to find it very expensive to insure a VR at 22 Yrs old!!

Surely a Honda CTR is about the same to insure as a VR?? What category is a type R?

yeah, I'm inclined to think it may be the hub as the noise wasn't there before the front bearings were done. Just don't have the time to sort it out at the moment, currently use car every day and we are in process of buying house so no spare money!!! We are just putting up with it and hoping it doesn't get worse!!

firstly my indicators started not working/indicating the wrong way. Now, the indicators don't work if I am braking!! Plus when I brake the dash light that indicates the fogs are on lights up! Just wondering if I have a dodgy earth somewhere.

Can anyone tell me where the earth for the electrical system is likely to be on a mk 3 golf please? I've got something proper dodgy going on with my electrics (mainly my lights) :?

Our alarm definately has some kind of back up, discovered this when disconnecting battery for something. Blinking alarm wouldn't shut up :oops:

Has anyone cut down their 90mm spoiler? - done it

We have a 90mm and because the car is low anyway, it scrapes all the time. But if you think about it, every time you scrape a little bit wears off, so just keep the 90mm and eventually it'll be 70mm :wink: -
Yeah I can never work out insurance companies. I pay £500 fully comp on the VR and £300 TPFT on the crappy diesel golf. However, I have 6 or 7 years no claims on the VR and only 1 on the golf.

We have some dark/smoked side repeaters on our VR and it passed MOT no probs! Will try and find a pic for you

I've not had anything apart and there are no water leaks. It's just randomly started to do it. :?

OK, now both indicators don't work much. Sometimes when I indicate nothing happens but then a bit later they turn themselves on. Also sometimes if I'm indicating left, the right lights flash. Plus when I brake the lights that indicates the fogs are on comes on! Do I just have some wierd connection thing going on?
