  1. It takes different strokes to make the scene, i like them but they were on when i bought the car so it's not that i chose to fit that type of zorst but happy with them anyway. Chris
  2. Following this thread on........ Me and Chrishill were sitting having a cup of coffee in his kitchen and a natter, there was a knock on the door and some bloke asking who owns the scirocco outsode! Knowing that people get thee scirocco and the Corrado confused, we said yeah we own them. He then promptly explained that there was a silver one that had rolled half way down the road down the bank! I shouted oh no Chris(hill) your car's done it again! He replied, no it couldn't cos the car was left in gear and that he couldn't be that unlucky so it must be mine!!! Shlt i thought and ran out to see if it was my silver VR that had rolled away the same way as Chrishill's had done just a coule of weeks ago. Surelly enough it was mine that had rolled away down the same hill that killed Chris's car! Fortunatelly mine hadn't crashed into anything and had been heading for a tree when the handbreak tension was just enough to slow it to a stop before it greeted the tree! Phew! Chris
  3. Well i've always said i like my upswept DTM's, i can make smoke rings when the air is cold and i blip the throttle, two rings shoot up past the rear window! Chris
  4. the door mirrors are the ears of the Corrado and i'm not all together sure that those muffs cover the passenger ear so there's a slim chance that it may still hear............ Chris
  5. Unless lightening it or having it skimmed i'd save the £40 and put it toward a light alloy one like the Fidanza for sale on here ATM! Chris
  6. J127 GDM has the LARGEST tax disc holder in Cardiff! Chris
  7. Ah but you see, the tow bar has a rear guard defense action! Chris
  8. Good effort as always, and i've said it before and i'm saying it again, it makes me want to tidy my heap up to a better standard, inspiration! Chris
  9. Feel sad, i was in austria too and we spoke about the Coupehaus on the boat on the way to the show one day and everyone's on there who was there but little old me!   Chris
  10. How much are ther retail like? Are they any better than the 10mm Magnacore's? Chris
  11. vrmillerman, depending upon where you are in the country, i would do the head gasket for you, i've done them many time on numerous VR engines so it's a straightforward job! Drop me a line if you like, may be worth you travelling to the northeast to get it done, could just save you a chunk of money! Chris [email:d9747][email protected][/email:d9747]
  12. .Rich., calm down man, it's just launced(kind of) today! It's a beta version so far! Wonder if my mildly modded charged nos'd VR can get on there in the gallery?  Chris
  13. Kev, remember we spoke about these things but there wasn't really too much interest to persue it, i'd like one but skint at the moment and you and H8RRA voiced up about the Raceland one! Chris
  14. Jap cars are for Jap enthusiasts! I have had 7 Skylines at one and driven them all but still always preferred to drive the Corrado home, now i know ine isn't a standard VR6 and the Vortech charger transforms the drive but it's faster than most of the Skylines and handles better and i would say the same over the 200! I've raced a few 200's and they can be fast though i've not been beaten by one yet! The 200 can be very well mannered then be an animal, it's refined and has air con but it can be boring too, i'm pro Corrado mind but the 200 just doesn't turn me on, save up another £1500 and get a nice Skyline which is what a 200sx really wants to be anyway. Chris
  15. There is a 'brace' available which is about 5mm thick and allows the 'squish' area to run into this space giving you 10mm more throw with the appropriate crank and it seals like a head gasket but doesn't let the rings run in to it so keeping the seal and compresion but will increase the stroke by 10mm which is a lot! with a stroke of 105.4mm and a bore of 85mm on a 6cly VR you can get 3.6litres! Chris
  16. There's a good option! Chris
  17. My mistake yeah 95.6mm, don't know what i was thinking. Liners are simply a lump of pipe but with specific machining done. You get the cast liners machined out and have the new ones pressed in then bore and hone them to size, job done. Chris
  18. Cheers Kev, thought we needed a CC calc on the forum to equate these threads and prove supposition. DaveVR6, There are some 1000BHP VR6's and a number of 680-750bhp ones around too. Check out EIP and Schimmel Performance. H8RRA's crank is 94.6mm and the largest you can go in the VR6 is generally accepted as 85mm which will bring a VR to 3.22L but offset grind the crank and you will get a 97mm crank throw and exactly 3.3L using my cc calc! You can rebore it much larger and fit liners into the block for serious reboring and CC, 3.5-3.6L is achievable! Chris
  19. My thread titled 'Tuning the VR6' has loads of info there Chris
  20. Not by the looks of it they don't! I was on the VWVortex site earlier and there are threads stating that thier VF kits are running 359bhp on 92 octane pump gas! Same old same old............ Well Paul TBH i am kinda saying the engine is set up craply even though i did it myself! The pistons are ready for the bin as they are just wrong and that is that! The head gasket was a bodge to get round the wrongly machined pistons vince had done at some point for that guy whom paid him a fortune to build it, and the map has no correspondance to the engine it's ment to run! So in short yeah it's crap that's why i spent ages gathering info for you! Get it bought and get it built and then i can post different words and watch people eat hats! Chris
  21. All i've done here really is list parts, the tricky bit is getting it all to run together and produce the power! Chris
  22.  Well they seem up to the job!
  23. This thread was mainly intended for raising the inspiration of H8RRA to get his finger out and sort a good engine thus far it's oriented toward the FI VR6 though most of the other parts are just as happy in aN/A VR6 too. Manley Steel Rods Pro Series I-Beam - Lightweight Design VW Forged from 4340 aircraft quality vacuum degassed material Manufactured in our own CNC machining centers Fully machined to produce the lightest and strongest rod possible Shot peened after machining and 100% magnafluxed Cap Fasteners are 3/8" ARP 2000 cap screws Kit comprises of 6x dressed rods £536 Chris
  24. THat's the one we used on H8RRA's engine and it's had plenty of thrashing and it's remained perfectly sealed. When you say cheat, what do you mean? to drop the C/R a touch or just seal well in std thickness? Tug, here's a tip, right click on any of the pics and click on 'properties and that will show you the origional site's URL whuch you can highlight and copy then paste it into the address bar at the top and hey presto, you are on the site, just don't paste all of the url in there or all you'll get is the picture! chris
