  1. mad fruit, i asked myself the question, what's the point' and i answered, because he can, that's the best i could comeup with, there's no other real reason. Chris 16v, it looks like it's your birthday by the little cake on your sig, so happy birthday.
  2. Hey, power to the lad, he mus sit at home after driving somewhere to clean bird cack off some loaded blokes joy and have a jolly good old giraffe with his lass then polish her one off before bed! Chris
  3. That's nothing compared to 'Blonde Star'! 'Blonde Star, always on cos you're always Blonde'! Twas funny in a silly way Chris
  4. well i guess i could get them made but at what cost etc? The thing is, Claret Badger, the gains can be very noticeable. I put the cams in on H8RRA's engine and got one of them about a tooth out and it was harder to start and ran lumpy and produced noticeably less power! On investigation i found the cam timing to be out and the cause of the trouble, the car would have ran happily and another person prob wouldn't have given it a second thought! It wasn't a full tooth out as they wouldn't line up exactly so with a vernier pulley kit you could adjust things and realise possible the same gains of an exhaust manifold and some head work alone! After market cams are notoriously out of timing, just look at the range of piper cams and the range of verniers to go with it. Anyway i'm not arguing about it, i've seen it for myself and it's a good addition if you want the best from what you buy with your hard earned cash! Chris
  5. THe thing is, even with a free flow filter and a performance zorst, you could benefit from a remap as the breathing is better. "3 angle guides"? Surely you mean 3 angled valve seats? Chris
  6. There's been a lot of debate of late regarding the lowly VR6 12v engine and what constitutes a well tuned or 'Race' engine. I did a thread some time back with a shopping list of juicy bits you could use to tune the VR6 engine, however there was one main thing that was missing, simply because i couldn't find any at the time! These are essential for tuning the engine or in fact any engine really. Well here is an example of these illusive things. VR6 Vernier timing gears If you find and better or sexier looking ones, or indeed and cheaper ones then post up your findings These are part of the sharp end of tuning and a way of getting it 'exactly' right! Chris
  7. If anyone finds a vernier gear set for the VR then let me know! I know they exist as there was an engine at Stealth with them fitted but Vince didn't know from whenst they came! Chris
  8. Some folk call this a double hex or a 12point as mentioned... Chris
  9. It seems lots of people have the same thoughts about thier engines, i wonder how many actually end up doing what they thought with them? Chris
  10. Christ, you could get a Schimmel log manifold in with that price and if you built it yourself you could probably manage to include the charge cooler on that price too! People eh! Chris
  11. I quite like the ones that illuminate Chris
  12. Well, done right it'll be just fine, but as previously said by olly elworthy, you're advised to get a remap as with any mod it's essential for optimal running. What is classed as a 'Race' engine anyway? Chris
  13. As always there's lots of conflicting words and theories! I've had experience of higher C/R VR6 engines and this i can say: It's perfectly fine to raise the C/R to 11:1 and yes you will need to run Optimax all the time and no it shouldn't pink unless you have something dodgy going on. You SHOULD use longer duration cams, there is a good reason for this, not wanting to get too boring about engine dynamics but.... There are TWO types of C/R to consider if you are building something special! 1. A STATIC C/R 2. A Dynamic C/R These are completely different though are inseperatelly linked. You really need to work out both of these to make an engine work correctly or more to the point, make it work to it's potential and be stoichiometric! Not being dismissive but by virtue that you are asking this very question you don't have enough info to go out and start dismantling your engine and rebuilding it using blind luck. There's so much info out there to gleen that you should go on the hunt for some ideas then re-address this article. Reading and doing are a far throw apart and take years of experience to do it right. I'm not saying don't have a go, more like use baby steps rather than dive straight in. Chris
  14. At least it wasn't burned out matey!. Looking at it positively. I woke up one morning not long ago and all my tyres on my VR were slashed with a stanley knife, that broke my heart, and it was parked on my driveway too! Chris
  15. I generally carry a flick knife in the glove box. Chris
  16. but these will be young twats that have no respect and from slovenly upbringing. You need to be associated with one or two of the hard case nutter lads on the island, would you like an introduction, all will be well from there on in i'm sure. Chris
  17. the T35 is a fair size turbo, what psi are you planning on running and is the C/R going to be 9.5:1? Chris
  18. He-He, did i swear there after taking my hands from my ears! I also have some vids on my phone but yet to dump them to pc but i shall and will upload them. Chris
  19. Well, sod the Goof, did anyone watch the Stunning girl with the big Babbilons THRASHING the Ferrari Modena big time! WOW, now that's a woman!!!!! Chris
  20. Well i didn't know if folk had seen it but i guess they have. Chris
  21. I came across this Corrado article, and wondered if others were aware of it or am i being late in the day with it, anyway HERE it is. Chris
  22. Yeah well i was fitting a boost gauge to it that's all, nothing was wrong with it. Chris
  23. hopefully a lot Now now children, this isn't helping. Chris
  24. Same here! My VR lump is feeling old now and chatters for a full 15mins with piston slap until warm. The economy is getting worse though it always starts in the morning regardless of weather and still does the clock but it's defintally getting tireder so a change will need to be happening soon. Chris
